So, I got bored with Mike, Katie, and Randy and we watched the 80's Curious George cartoons. I now have the theme song stuck in my head.
Less than a week until I move back to Heidelberg for the school year. Thoughts? Eh, a few. I'm ready to go help out with the rest of orientation, to meet the freshmen I'm friends with on Facebook that I haven't actually met yet, to get to know the ones I do know, to see my old friends again, and to get back on stage. However, I am really enjoying my time at home, I enjoy my job (for the most part), and I enjoy spending time with my local friends that I don't see during the school year. I'm also not ready for auditions and I haven't finished the required reading...nor do I care to.
I haven't ordered any of my books yet because my professors never e-mailed me back. (I'll have to do that once I get on campus.) I haven't started packing (though I do have a list) and my room looks like Dorothy's tornado ran through on its way to Oz.
I really need to update my list of things to do. I'm looking forward to going with my mom to work to shop. Our body wash is $7 off, I'm in love with our new fragrance, and I'm dying to get some of our soap for campus. (See how sad my life has begun?)
The medieval faire is only a few days away!! The girls and I decided not to wear our dresses because we're worried about the heat. Instead, we're going to wear peasant skirts. (I'm going to look for a slightly medieval-ish top to wear with mine and I'd like to do my hair.) I am so excited for this!! I'm hoping I can find some cool stuff while I am there. (This is the place I might intern at next summer...if it works.)
I'm also hoping that I can get a job working with the CTA department. I blew off the opportunity to work at the Learning Center to do this...and I doubt that I can get back into the Learning Center if this doesn't come through. I e-mailed Dr. G and asked him if there were any opportunities, so let's pray he e-mails me back.
Auditions are coming fast and I'm getting worried again. I've narrowed my audition song down to two songs from the same musical. Though I won't have a piano to practice with, I do have both songs on CD. I've been watching a few movies over the summer to get a feel for the accent. I'm planning to try to find them at the Tiffin-Seneca library so I can keep working on them. (I really hoping that that will be my ace in the hole.) When I talk to people about the auditions, we normally say what role we see each other in. Most people have told me the same role, actually the one I would like to have, which makes me feel better. Still, I'm not putting all of my eggs in that basket. I've been singing all of the women's parts on the CD, even the sopranos, just so I can get a feel for the characters and the music. When I get on campus, I'm planning to rehearse the lines with someone else to see if they have any suggestions. I just want this show to start so badly...I miss the stage.
Well, I'm going to lay my dramatic self to rest for the evening. G'night, one and all.
