The Reason for the Season
My first full day of vacation. I planned to sleep in and knock out some Christmas shopping with Mike.
Unfortuantely, that didn't quite happen.
My grandma called my mom this morning and told her that she could barely get out of bed. Her old back injury was affecting her leg and she was having problems walking. She really needed to go shopping today before the roads got bad to get things for the holiday and asked if she thought I could help her. Of course I said yes.
My grandma came over around 9:30 and we went to no less than six stores and met my mom for lunch. There was only one store where we couldn't find what we were looking for. She helped me with a bit of my Christmas shopping. We got back to her house around 4:30 or so. I knocked icicles off of her house and we sat around for a bit and swaped stories.
True, it wasn't shopping with Mike, but I had a lot of fun. I was thankful that I got to spend the day with her. We don't get to see each other that much with me at college and she has been getting very lonely since my mom went back to work.
In other news, I made my first credit card payment and two more days until wisdom teeth hell. We're having a girls' night out at my grandma's on Sunday. I've had a mini job offer for break. A woman has a daughter who can't speak and they pay their babysitters $10/hr to watch her. Considering...not sure, though. Really hoping to go see "RENT" again with my two cousins.
