In just 10 days I will officially be a resident of Oakland and no longer a San Francisco girl. I'm nervous. I've lived in San Francisco for the last decade and know my way around the city so well it's just like an extension of me but I know hardly anything about Oakland. I have familiarized myself with the area around my new home but beyond that I'm pretty clueless. I don't know where the neat places and the hidden gems are yet. The craziest part is that I don't have a car. The Transbay bus picks up just a few blocks from my house so I know how to get to work just fine. I know I am going to need to get a car asap though. Oakland is just that kind of city, I can feel it in my bones.
