After a slight delay because Santa
ikel89 had ordered something online which took its time and then another slight delay because German mail...idk apparently decided to sit on the package for a few days so that I would be even more excited when I got it. That's also the reason there is no beautiful Christmas still life picture in which I arranged everything nicely, including those things that were wrapped. I just had to open ALL THE THINGS immediately.
First: noms:
Cadbury! I am an adult and therefore I bravely resist the urge to fill half my suitcase with Cadbury products whenever I return from UK/Ireland visits which is why I appreciate anybody who indulged me. Also, I never had Chocolate Fudge Brownie Bites but every word sounds delicious.
More noms:
Which I guess are technically settled betting debts and not secret Santa? ItMakesSenseInContext. Also, can you see how I valiantly resist making any comments about the value of actual Pound coins vs. the value of chocolate pound coins post-Brexit?
AND THEN:
YARN!!!
THAT ALSO HAS THE BEST NAME
Now I love all hand-dyed yarn equally but recently I knitted a lot with very colourful skeins and they are also pretty but usually work best if you knit them together with a solid yarn that brings some quiet into the 3251 colours of the skein (for example like
this thematically named shawl). And that gives some great results but occasionally it's just nice to have a yarn you can knit on its own like this one. Now I will have to check all the one-skein shawl patterns and possibly buy another one because clearly the 2346 I have won't do.
OH AND HAVE I MENTIONED THE WRAPPING PAPER?
MOOSE! (or possibly reindeer but really aren't they all one big family?). I feel I haven't expressed my love for moose enough. I do love them a lot, you know.
Where was I? Right. Presents.
I have never read anything by Sarah Rees Brennan but I am already sure I will love this book based on this quote:
The other thing on the picture, which you probably can't really recognise because I failed to take a good picture is a christmasy moose-y bookcover I can now go and put on a book full of murder and mayhem and cleverly disguise myself.
BUT THERE WAS EVEN MORE!!!
In the letter to my Santa I had also mentioned how I could do with some brooches because I am a knitter with many shawls and occasionally need a brooch to fasten one and Santa delivered:
A Hand of the King-pin (I now must be careful and avoid losing my head). More moose! And some very simple one which I appreciate a lot because I have some in really fancy and popping colours which only work well with one or two shawls so some that I can basically use with whatever shawl I pull out of my closet Is great.
(I also feel that I need to point out that I really, really like moose...have you seen my room?
they all need the company. For example of this cup that Santa also brought:
He is very happy to be with all his friends now
AND THERE WAS STILL MORE! A Chines/Nirvana in Fire-themed hairstick. Here you can see me failing to take a picture of the back of my own head:
Here you can see Matilda kindly offering her services as a model:
And one final thing, which is also not technically part of the Secret Santa but of our craft-bartering-exchange:
Miryem in the woods being magical and very regal. It's beautiful :D (And of a size that should make it slightly easier to find a frame for it so it won't lie around for half a year until we manage to make it to talkative framing guy who has his workshop somewhere at the end of the world (well in Kleinostheim which is basically the same thing) which is what happened to your other picture :D)
So thank you Santa! I am very happy. Matilda is also pleased to have found more friends.
