[there's something not quite right about that dream. Especially after his past dreams. Isabelle frowns slightly when she calls him up, concerned for more than one reason.]

Des? Talk to me.

[There's the muffle sound of fabric shifting as Desmond sits up on his floor. He keeps his thumb over the camera of the Dreamberry because he can feel warm blood trickling down his face. He split something when he fell down and he doesn't want Isabelle to worry for nothing.]

I'm fine, Izzy.

[Even if he's still partly shaken from his dream]

I heard a thud. That usually doesn't bode well. [the fact that he is hiding himself from her means she needs to worry.]

[Grabbing his shirt at the foot of the bed, he presses it over his wound. How many has he ruined by now?]

It's dark, I hit my dresser while trying to get my Dreamberry.

Des. Seriously?

[He hates lying to Isabelle, he really really does, but he can't tell her about what's happening to him. It kills him a little inside, because he knows he's slowly starting to crave to have someone he can trust, but he needs to leave her out of this. If he ever gets really insane like Sixteen, he doesn't want her to see him like that.]

Yes, seriously. I even think I'll have a bruise on the hip.

[she sighs, a sound that's torn between being concerned and just exasperated. When she speaks, it's clear that she neither believes him nor is willing to pry to that extent.]

[It's his turn to sigh and he takes off his thumb off from the camera of the Dreamberry]

You're so obvious, it's painful. [now that he's looking at her, she can properly puppy-dog eye him.]

Ha ha. I'm not. Am I? [Damn it Isabelle, he's supposed to be all stealth and shit like that, like his ancestors.]

Just to me. I don't know if anyone else is going to figure it out. [she sighs.] I do like to think I know you a bit better than that, Des.

I know you do, Izzy. I just...don,t want you to worry for nothing, you know?

I really don't think you getting injured is 'for nothing'. What's going on?

I meant that it's just a small cut, Izzy. And I simply caught my feet in my shoes in the dark and fell down. I guess that's what I deserve for not kicking them further yesterday before going to bed.

[He doesn't mean to be frustrating, really. He just thinks that he can't afford getting innocent people mixed with his own troubles at home.]
