[Character Name] Spirit Albarn | Death Scythe
[Canon] Soul Eater.
[Point Taken from Canon] Chapter 62.

[Age] 32 (estimate).
[Gender] Male.
[Sexual Orientation] Hetero.

[Eye Color] Blue.
[Hair Color] Red.
[Height] ... no idea. Fairly tall, at any rate. 6'0?
[Other] -
[Clothing] Right here. He's not really seen in much else, the only noticeable difference being the occasional ditching of the coat.

[Background] Hidden away in some desert in Nevada lies Shibusen, a school dedicated to training weapons (people with the ability to transform) and meisters (those able to wield them). Years before the start of the series Spirit attended this school as a weapon, aiming (like others) to become a Deathscythe. This involves collecting the souls of 99 corrupted humans and 1 witch, no easy feat.

Naturally, this would be even harder for one person to do - so Spirit spent the start of his school years partnered with one Franken Stein. Although apparently a good team (Stein is now Shibusen's strongest Meister), they... somehow failed to collect the requisite souls. Why over the course of a few years this never happened isn't really explored, but it was during this time period that Stein started experimenting on Spirit in his sleep.

Enter Maka's mother, who pulls a 'no u' on Stein and tells Spirit what's been going down for the past while. He's naturally horrified, ditching Stein for her (although we don't know exactly what was done in those experiments). They apparently make a much more efficient pair, and soon enough Spirit is a Death Scythe - the strongest one in fact, weapon of Shinigami-sama himself.

At some point during their time together, the duo get married and at about eighteen Spirit finds himself with a baby daughter. Quickly becoming the center of his world, Maka and her father have a great relationship... until she gets old enough to realize her dad is nothing but a huge flirt. Just before the start of the series, Spirit divorces his wife (who is never shown onscreen), leading to an even greater rift with his daughter (his first appearance consists of her rebuking him).

During her next fight, Maka gets in way over her head. Spirit (clearly an attendee of responsible parenting 101) is returning from the Cabaret Club when Shinigami tells him of this, causing him to attempt a brazen rescue of his daughter. Shinigami stops him, and (luckily) the situation resolves in a positive manner. Later Spirit demonstrates his 'teaching' skills, taking a temporary position with Maka's class. She, of course, ignores him, and Spirit winds up in a petty argument with Soul. After school is over he ditches to go to the club, and the usual teacher returns the next day.

A short time later Stein returns to Shibusen, and Spirit is naturally terrified. The two do end up teaming up again to take down the Demon Sword, saving both Maka and Soul in the process. They then head back to the school, where everything goes calm for a while. But peace is boring, and soon enough something happens to break it - in this case, Medusa launching her plan to bring down Shibusen from the inside. Spirit once again pairs up with Stein to help save the day, fighting the witch herself to help stop the resurrection of the kishin. While they do succeed in 'killing' Medusa, Asura is still revived - so now there's a crazy demon god on the loose. Joy.

Spirit's role in the story from here on is minor (consisting of worrying over Maka, doing what Shinigami tells him and probably running off to the club when he can), until suspicion arises of a mole within in school. Specialist Joe Buttataki is called in to help with this situation... and is promptly murdered! Stein (now seriously affected by the spreading insanity) is the major suspect, and Spirit is part of the group sent to arrest him. Despite this, they tell Stein they don't think he is the killer - and Spirit basically instructs him to get the hell out and find the real culprit. Turns out it was indeed someone else, and after some "sorry lol" to Shinigami over the whole 'letting a murder suspect escape' deal, Spirit's back in action.

[Personality] To save the effort of writing a personality section, I have constructed a perfect replica of Spirit's mind.

...

Fine, I'll do one anyway.

Spirit is, first and foremost, completely devoted to his daughter. He's on call 24/7 in regards to assisting her, only being thwarted by Shinigami (during Maka's battle with Blair), or accessibility. Their relationship is somewhat strained due to his divorce with her mother, but Spirit never stops trying to win his daughter back. It's probably pointless, but hey - can't fault a guy for trying.

So, who could divorce such a caring man? Maybe somebody who'd witnessed his near constant flirting with other women. Spirit, much to his detriment, spends a lot of time hitting on the ladies - mainly at clubs, but even extending to the school nurse at one point (which was a very, very bad idea). Despite this, he's still loyal to his ex-wife in some backwards way, ruining any chance at a proper relationship thanks to his own guilt.

Even outside of Maka, Spirit really is decent guy. As a Deathscythe, he protects those who can't protect themselves, and has no qualms about putting his life in danger for others. While he can be a bit of a jerk to some people (especially Soul, which relates back to his own overprotective nature with Maka); there's never any malice behind it.

He's still a shitty teacher, though.

[Specialties/Abilities] Being a weapon, Spirit has the power to transform into a scythe. In this form he can do little for himself, but with a suitable meister (in canon either Stein, Shinigami, or Maka's mother) present they become a deadly team. In addition, Spirit is a Deathscythe, meaning he has the added ability of being able to instantly produce multiple scythe blades from his limbs. As well as giving him a way to fight on his own, this carries an obvious intimidation factor.

Also, he has the power of fatherly love. Don't mess.

[Affection] Uh. Spirit is canonically a big flirt - he's shown hitting on a lot of different women throughout the story. THAT SAID, he's also very devoted to his daughter (Maka); and always ends up screwing up any relationship because of guilt over her and his ex-wife. However! This will not stop him approaching most every attractive woman in somarium, so something to keep in mind.

In regards to affection toward him - females get a hell yes and likely something in return, males get a O_o and probably some weird looks.

[Fighting] Fighting in general I don't have a problem with. Just keep in mind that Spirit is reasonably powerful by himself (back at shibusen, he was the deathscythe of deathscythes), and especially strong when partnered with a fitting meister (shinigami being the only one present).

Injury is also a yes, if you give me a heads up. Death... I'd rather avoid, but if there's a good reason get in touch and I'll consider it.

He would not normally go around picking fights, however, if anyone even lays a finger on Maka, he'll stop at almost nothing to make sure it never happens again.

[Other Facts] Nothin'.
