A day...of cooking like hell

YAY FOR GOOD DAYS!!!

Very early this morning, Skippy and I (and a bottle of rum and some groupies, heh heh, ie. Paco, Duckie, Skipper and Elizabeth) were nursing our Irish accents with the Boondock Saints for the millionth time this semester...and that of course, is always a good time. Poor Sarah didn't feel so hot though...BUT I think I helped fix that just now!! But I'll get to that...

Anyway, so I got up at 9:30am and started making Jen's cake, which was four layers (funfetti and devil's food), had white chocolate almond frosting, was decorated with chocolate chips and melted chocolate ganache, vanilla frosting highlights, and arranged with candied walnuts and candied glass (lace). It looked cool, and tasted better...and none was left-over! YAY!!

Next time I do candied glass though, I have to get the damn thing to the hard crack stage. It was only at the tail end of soft crack, so it bent slightly at room temperature. It has to be 280 degrees, and I think it must've gotten only to 277 or something. Goddamn candy. Pain in my ass...

BUT OH WELL! :)

Anyway, that was done at 3, and we went to grab Russ and Julian and head to church for the wedding!! WHICH WAS AWESOME!! :) GOD IT WAS SOOOOOO CUTE!!

It'll be the talk of Wells, I know it.

Then tonight, we found Yuko, and all of us watched Spirited Away in the lounge with Duckie. She brought (gasp) ANOTHER FUNFETTI MIX! So....I made ANOTHER two layer cake with chocolate ganache inside and chocolate feathered on the top. I bought some M&Ms from downstairs and chucked those on top, too. OH, and MAN, the cake was still a little warm so they got a little melty inside...*DIES* And I wrote "We Luv Duckie <3" on the side to show we wuv our Sarah!!! :)

I made miso soup too, cuz I wanted some, and shared it with Yuko, who needed the good lovin' only misoshiro can give. HELLS yeah.

The end of the semester sucks and I hate seeing all my friends suffer in its grasp. If I can do anything to allieviate it, like tonight's funness, then I hope fate hands me the opportunity.

I love you, guys.

And I wuv you, Mom, who leaves adorable messages on my machine, telling me you miss me when you're snowed in at home...

You all make me feel so glad to be alive. To see light spark up in someone else's eyes, and a big smile burst upon their lips, and to know that I caused it, that I brought joy to someone....well, that's enough for me. That's all I could ever want for Christmas. (holycrapwasthatmushy)
