A few random things:
Airbus A380: flew on one of these things, london to singapore and they are ACE. lots of legroom, el, totally awesome inflight entertainment system (based off red hat, though wierdly using a 2.4 kernel, and independantly controlled per seat. kinda unreliable though, needed lots of reboots).
laser pizza (lay-zer pete-za):
http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/08/laser-pizza-cut.html twitter: i'm on Twitter as AngelSpark . the badge on the front page is for my old account and will be changed shortly- its just a name change so anyone following it should still be on i think
computers: after setting up my old laptop (TLFKAA) for mom, she started complaining dad kept hijacking it.i'm probably setting up my brother's old relic as a xubuntu (i can't get the wifi card working without network manager, so flux/icebuntu are out) box, installing java et al, audacity and setting it up for the same use. basic audio capture and web browsing's something anything can handle anyway.
Once i get my stuff from bristol, i should have a second working desktop(a composite of frankenstein and arora), a old box to use as a server (kitten), and an additional laptop so this should be less of an issue. I'll need a converter for emmie as well.
i'm also considering kitten's 'role'- kitten MK1 was a graphical system with SSH and NX access, used purely as a central download box.while kitten will still be a download box, switching from ktorrent to fluxtorrent b4rt should take away my need for KDE, and since i have a web server anyway for torrentflux, i could run other things off it as well.If i DO go for a graphical desktop it does KDE3.5 perfectly well.
