[Cou wakes up with something of a start. He's naked aside from his communicator and after backing himself against a wall and trying to cover his (Needlessly censored with random yelling of "Gigantic Tager!") with his hand, he's flushing a generally brilliant shade of crimson

N-No need t--to y-yell.

[Too worn down to be flustered, Xanth retrieves a set of scrubs for Cou from a cabinet. He's got scratches and cuts and a week-old bruise on his face, but it's mostly superficial damage.

Looking in the complete opposite direction, Xanth offers Cou the scrubs.]

[He hadn't really expected to startle anyone -it seemed that most of everyone was busy tending to their own problems and he figured that using his inside voice wouldn't have sufficed in getting the help he'd need.

Still, he appreciatively takes the scrubs and dons them in a hurry, still feeling sore from things he was still trying to remember with the blur they happened in.]

Sorry about that. You look kinda beaten up, are you okay?

i'm going to bed, will get more tags tomorrow!

... I--I'm-- I'm f-fine.

[Xanth runs a hand down his face. He's not fine; he's tired as hell. But whenever he tries to sleep, if it'll even come to him, all he sees are those visions.]

Is-- i-is there anyone you... y-you're l--looking f-for?

[Cou's expression turns mildly quizzical, getting the very distinct impression by his speech that this guy has been through much worse than he's had to endure.]

Uh, if you know 'em, Mikaela, Kairi or Mikey.

M--Mikaela's around, sh-she's okay. I-I don't know a M-Mikey, a-and... [Oh, this hurts to say. Xanth looks down.] I-I... haven't... s-seen Kairi y--yet.

[He nods a little bit, digesting that tid-bit of news.]

If she hasn't shown up, then maybe Kairi got out of all of this. And at least Mikaela's okay.

Thanks for that. Sorry again about the start -I just... ya know.

[Kairi was at the party, Cou. Xanth hopes she's okay, but the doors were locked. He's sure she didn't get out.

He nods to Cou.]

Y--Yeah, no, d-don't-- don't worry. E-Everything's s-still... I-I don't-- I don't know.

[He feels like he's aged ten years in two days.]

[For the better or worse of things, he didn't see Kairi at the party and had no clue whether or not she'd actually been there.

All that had just happened that turned what was just another bit of the captain's mischief into something he was sure even Redd's schemes did not entail. Suffice it to say, he frankly was going to bear something of a grudge toward any cardinal he saw from this day forward.]

Oh yeah, I'm kinda rattled so I'm kinda bad putting faces I haven't seen too often to names.

[He extends a hand to shake.]

I'm Cou.

[Xanth looks at the hand, like he's not sure what to do with it, but then he takes it. He gives Cou an insincere smile, but a smile all the same.]

X--Xanth. D-Don't worry i-if you d--don't remember, I'm not... g-gonna be offended, or--or a-anything.

[When his hand is taken, he instinctively gives it a good shake. He's a little troubled by his new acquaintance's smile, but he figures he'll let his questions about it slide for now.]

Yeah, I think I ran into ya maybe once or twice before.

Anyway, you okay? Ya seem even more rattled than me.

[The imagery had all been disturbing enough, but appreciably, little of it managed to push his specific buttons as he didn't see anything particularly identifiable to him being generally obliterated by the crew.]

[Cou? You're a lucky bastard. Xanth just looks at Cou.]

You... y-you do know w-what just ha--happened in there, r--right? What-- w-what we just s--saw?

[Xanth saw his whole town get ripped to shreds. Family, enemies, strangers - all of them killed. And that was just the vision! All around there was blood and carnage, people being hurt and slaughtered.

He's more than rattled. He's completely shaken.]

[He looks off to the side. Cou isn't entirely insensitive, it's more that well... he's just not always thinking things through and as a result, the sheer magnitude of the horror everyone had been subjected to was -by sheer, dumb luck, somewhat lost on him.]

I think so... I know what I saw was pretty bad.

Some of those places -were any of them home to you?

[Xanth nods.]

I-I don't know i-if--if we all saw th--the same th-thing, but... y--yeah.

S-Sorry, I'm just... I-I... I don't know.

[His expression drops a few notches.]

It's okay.

That had to have been pretty rough though.

R-Rough. Y--Yeah.

[Xanth smooths his hands up his face and pushes his bangs back.]

But-- u-uh, is, is there a--anything else you n--need? B-Bandages, uh, o-other... stuff? I-I don't think th-there's food down here, b-but, I've s--seen people l-leave so you-- you can p-probably go, if... if you l-like.

[He shakes his head.]

I'm good now, thanks.

I guess if I was naked though, I must've died back there, huh?
