The result, however, is to simply perpetuate it further. The better way to stop it would be simply to not become another node in the spreading of the meme.

... While on one hand you have a point, given our current overall situation, wouldn't it be better to not expose ourselves to things that cause undue stress? I'm sure that if something important comes up, we'll hear about it in plenty of other ways, anyways.

Further, this should blow over within a day, so it's not even that much of a delay...
