Springtime is icumen in, lhude sing nonny - FFA Post # 316

Apr 08, 2014 00:07

It is that time of year when OOA meets Cult of Nice Nonny, when mansplaining-loving nonny meets mansplaining-hating nonny, when NFHA may have moments of being tempted by NF provided he's well wrapped in a paper bag, when alpacas smoke, and when sap is flowing, buds are growing, and nests are being built all over the meme. Sing nonny, nu!

This is the closest I've ever been to inspiring a post title!

I know there are other Houston nonnies here. I'd love to organize a meetup. Any interest?

... there are!?

(Sorry, nonnie, I'm socially avoidant and meetups are the opposite of my jam. But it's cool to know there are other Houston nonnies out there.)

I think I've seen as many as three people say they were from Houston.

We could totally have a party with three people.

Of course, it's probably three people from like, Clear Lake, The Woodlands, and Sugarland, which . . . doesn't work great for meetups.

NA

I'm socially avoidant too but the impulsive part of me wants to put my state out there just to see what happens... of course what would happen is I'd probably chicken out if anyone actually said they'd come...

Baby Sparrows are very proud of you. Alas, they do not live in Houston. They're sort of... migratory.

The weather's turning nice enough for outside activities again, Spring is in the air, and I had a lot of fun last time. Anyone want to meet up again?

I also had a good time last time, and would be delighted to meet up again!

We're closing in on the opening of the Costume Institute exhibit aren't we? We've done a meetup there for the past two years and it's generally been pretty fun.

(I have a lot of free time, so I'd be happy to have a second one around the same time for people who aren't interested in fashion, too!)

There seems to be a lot of interest, so: activities, dates?

We just met up at a Argo Tea last time and that was pretty fun, but a bit noisy and crowded. Maybe now that the weather's nicer we could go for a park?

I'm free the two coming Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, though I know it's Palm Sunday and then Easter for some people.

All those dates work for me. Hmm, it's a good season to go to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, but where would we meet? I'm fine with doing the Argo Tea again if that's too ambitious though.

I pretty much live at Argo Tea already! And down the block from the gardens.

This weekend, I have to go to a funeral. The weekend after I'm free Friday eve and Sunday, and the weekend after that, I'm free Friday eve.
