Hmm. Given that there's only one person whose armour Durandal is going to be willing to get into (is it just me or does that sound suggestive), I'm wondering how this is going to work given that said person's armour lacks the necessary hardware (speaking of which, I liked Durandal's 'oh, shiny' moment) I'm wondering how this is going to work. I mean, the most obvious option is for Mark to swap armour with someone but given how complicated the armour on the RvB side of things is, there's a whole slew of potential issues even if there's someone who's the same size.

Oh, I'm definitely going to have fun with the armor-sharing. :D As for swapping - well, in the interests of this scene not being 10,000 words long there will be some handwaving, but I'll try to at least touch on the complications. (And there will be time for more armor geekery next chapter!)

As for the armour sharing, I keep thinking of a comment I heard someone make about how a romantic relationship between Cortana and the Master Chief could work that pointed out that she has direct access to his nervous system. There are so many interesting possibilities with something like that. Not sure if they'd be applicable to this situation though; if nothing else a lot of them would be really OOC, at least if they were done deliberately.

Haha, yeah - that would be fun to play with, but I think at least when it comes to the technical specs, the security officer wouldn't have the neural induction port that apparently Halo military personnel have, so I probably won't go there. (On the other hand, the suits could probably hook into his cyborg implants with some modifications, so - well, I still probably won't go there because this is eventually going to be the other kind of id porn with explosions and stuff, but I still plan to do at least a couple of interesting things with it. And like Durandal's going to pass up a chance to steal the specs for ALL the Halo/RvB-verse tech.)

...I am boggling in absolute horror at the idea of a South/Durandal link-up. If ever there were two personalities that ought never to be combined, it's them. Still kind of want to see it, though it'd be highly OOC for him to agree. Also, Durandal's squee moment re: the RvB armour technology was hilarious. I dare say he's already coming up with ideas as to how it could be stolen/repurposed to further his own plans?

It would be terrifying, and yet - so gloriously explosive. :D Haha, YOU BET. (Probably like 90% of the reason he goes along with the idea is so he can steal aaaaaall the technology specs. ... the other 10% is to give the security officer a chance to hang out with humans for a little bit BUT DON'T YOU DARE TELL HIM THAT.)
