[Gaim up to 19]Gaim is still pretty great, although I'm not sure how they're going to keep this pace up for the rest of the series. There are so many factions and people working for their own agendas and Micchy trying to play like three or four at once, which I am watching with the veiled horror of an upcoming trainwreck because there is no way that this is going to end well. (By the way Micchy, since you have inner access to Yggdrasil now, if you don't want Kouta seeing the video of Yuuya, maybe you should... just delete or lock the video... instead of totally ratting him out...)
I'm still lukewarm on Kouta because his character motivations are kind of... one-dimensional? But it looks like Takatora is going to show him Helheim's secret in ep 20, so we'll see if that changes anything.
Ryouma remains the best/worst, it's like Ryouma having a good day and everybody else ever in this show having a good day exist on sliding scales. It seems even Minato has her own agenda instead of throwing her whole lot in with Ryouma's, adding one more faction to an overflowing list. Minato is the best though, I have loved her since she was the Hopper dopant and criminally killed off after only two episodes in W, and I hope she remains for a long time in Gaim kicking the shit out of people. And I just found out that she's her own suit actress, making her that much more awesome.
Kaito is... Kaito. Similarly, Bravo is Bravo. Yep. Does Jounouchi even know yet that Hase is dead?
Strangely, the person I feel the worst for in this show might be Takatora and his impending stomach ulcer, because he seems like a generally honorable person who genuinely thinks what he's doing is for the best, tries to minimise collateral damage, and doesn't deserve to have to deal with Ryouma and Sid. No one deserves to have to deal with Ryouma and Sid. And he just wants his little brother to go to a good school and have a good upcoming career okay.
[ToQger 1-2]I'm... not really sure what I think of it so far. All the characters seem okay, although we haven't seen too much of them yet, and it seems like it might set up to be surprisingly dark despite the comedy, same as Den-O.
I legit think that the design team spent all their time working on the enemy designs and then just slapped a tracks on some old helmets and called it a day when they ran out of time. But 01 is super happy to go pink and none of the guys even comment about swapping into girl colours, so I will give it a pass for that.
Also, 04 was Jirou in Fourze, so my headcanon will always be that Jirou ran off to have adventures see how you like it when the shoe is on the other foot Ryusei
I'm still sad that Kyoryuger is over, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was one of the few toku series that maintained a constant high level from beginning to end. I don't think any of the episodes ever hit a wrong note.
