Motherboy - FFA Post #179

Why hasn't Motherboy, the traditional dance attended by a woman and her son, taken off in fandom? It's not any wackier than a coffeeshop AU.

Looking for long plotty 11th Doctor (with Amy and Rory) fics. Gen is preferred though background Amy/Rory is fine. Fics that take place during Series 5 and 6 are best as I haven't the 7th yet.

Any fandom. The male is much older than the female, but underage is not a requirement (nor is it off the table).

What is a "canon ship"? anonymous January 20 2013, 22:16:12 UTC
I'm curious how to categorize relationships that happen in canon but aren't end game.

For instance, in Friends, Monica and Chandler get married in season 7 and stay more or less happily married until the end of the show (and presumably beyond). Thus, they are clearly a "canon ship." However, Monica also dates Richard quite seriously for quite a number of episodes in the show. Is Monica/Richard a "canon ship"?

I would say so, yeah. It happened in canon = canon ship.

Given that not everyone defines the word "canon" the same way, though, I look forward to seeing everyone else's differing response :P

IMO, any characters who date in a show, no matter how briefly, count as a canon ship.

Any relationship that happened in canon is a canon ship, regardless of endgame.
