I stopped reading love memes because I get so weirdly empathetic for people who get no responses that I used to leave vague anon "I love x about you!" type comments for them. Then one time somene replied "I've never done X" and I was so embarrassed I never went back to another one. LOL pathetic.

I like the kind where you're meant to put up other people's names, but I never put my own name in. I have too many anxiety issues to deal well with getting no response.

It's less that I'm worried I'll get no responses than I think I'll get some responses that are just pity responses or fake responses from flisters who secretly hate me.

I have two people on my flist who regularly put their own names in on love memes, and the one who does it most frequently is also somebody who never, ever says anything sympathetic or encouraging to me when I'm having problems with something and post about it. But she wants asspats when a love meme comes around, ain't happening.

*nods* It's been my experience that the people who sign up for every single freakin' love meme are pretty much "PAY ATTENTION TO ME" 24/7.

I'm just so uncomfortable with the overly saccharine affection from people I don't really know. I don't want to be told I'm the wind beneath someone's wings.

Back in the day SGA had a little "express affection for your flist in the style of John Sheppard, emotionally repressed gay robot" meme, and it was... pretty cool, I guess. You know. It didn't suck. That sort of thing.
