Head Count

Just curious how many Gentle Failers wander by in a post:

Poll Head Count

All the fail_fandomanon Rules: http://fail-fandomanon.livejournal.com/18405.html

The short version: no embeds, don't be that much of an asshole, body fluids are off topic, mods reserve the right to delete the fuck out of stuff. Meme away.

The Seal of Firstness says hello, and wants to know how you feel about going to the beach and having a clambake.

(For the non-US anons- dig pit. put in rocks. start fire. then dump water on fire, seaweed, and lots of seafood, potatoes and corn. Good times)

I would love to accompany the Seal of Firstness to the beach for a clambake! I've never been to one, but I love clams, potatoes, and corn!

Secondeses actually. You should go on a picnic. If you try, I bet that Firstness will let you go to their clambake.

Hi, Seal of Seconds! I've never been around for a new post before. It's all very exciting! How do you feel about al fresco dining at a castle by the sea? I think I've seen some of your family there.

Can those of you who didn't like Snuff point out what was awkward/OOC about it? I liked it fine and I'm not seeing it.

The goblin religion was really cool and utterly irrelevant to the plot and never really explained. The flow was off--sometimes it was hard to tell who was talking, what was going on. It was still better than not having a Pratchett book to read, and a bad Pratchett is a good book by another name, but. It read like a first draft.

NA

Spoilery speculation?

...

I thought Stinky was implied to have something to do with the goblin religion, and Vimes' part to play with the Dark - wasn't one of the few things we're told about unggue that it provides something when desperately needed?

I didn't notice any parts where I couldn't tell what was going on or who was talking. If you can remember any specifics, would you mind telling me them? I'm interested to hear (I also massively speed-read my copy, so may have missed stuff).

I was annoyed by the Cheery/Cherry consistent typoing, but the fact that the book was terribly edited is old news by now :(

The difference in the Dark between Thud and Snuff was REALLY weird. I mean, in Thud it was this implacable monster that was only resisted with much effort, and now it's like....some kind of detecting buddy? That just didn't work for me.

The book was really badly proofread, but I was surprised to hear even the Kindle version was in terrible shape. It's one of those things that makes me side-eye publishers when they talk about how it costs JUST AS MUCH to make an ebook as a paper copy.

Pony.

Consolation is seeking help in locating more hay and pumpkin cupcakes.

I will undertake to make hay and pumpkin cupcakes for him, and other flavours such as carrot and mash. I draw the line at seal chow, though, because I used to live with an aspiring sushi chef and it put me off raw fish.

Nope.

But there is a pony who is coming to visit. Have you considered your commitment to the provision of apples?
