This is a slight clarification as to why I was disappointed yesterday.
He and I were always a very strange couple. We were when we got together, we were when we split up. And then when we got together again. And split. And back. And apart...
Now...I didn't expect anything magical or romantic from him. I just expected something fun. Last year it was drinks up at the mountain. The year before it was movies.
I know he has feelings for me. And I for him. Just not the same feelings. It doesn't work in a relationship, but it's...well...it's hard to explain. I'm happy with the way we are with each other. I just expected there to be more done yesterday.
I don't expect to be fully understood, but I hope this explanation sheds a little light on the situation.
And for today's events. Letssee.
Got woken up early in the morning for a phone call. Some guy that shares a first name with me is in deep debt, and appearantly he's listed the number here as his contact number. So at like...8 in the morning (I don't go to sleep until like...3 or 4) I get woken up because the phone's for me. Except it's this other guy they're trying to reach. It's a wonderful way to start the day. So at about 8:30 (they don't believe that I'm not the person they're trying to reach) I roll over and start trying to go back to sleep.
Then I eventually get up at about noon-thirty. Get showered and cleaned. Teeth brush, chin shaven (not 'cause I want to, but because I look horrible if I try to grow facial hair), dressed, and promptly ride out on my bike into the 116 degree heat. Yeah, that was fun.
First stop, the power company. This is my last day off before I move into the new apartment, and I want to be able to run the fridge the day I move in. Gotta keep the booze cold, right? So I get there, there's a huge line, and like...one person able to help people. And the entire time I'm standing in line there's no improvement. It takes forever to get there, and then I'm just at the teller (I guess that's the title for the people there) for like three minutes before I'm done. I really don't know how people manage to be there for like...fifteen minutes before they're done.
Next on from there, I realized that I hadn't eaten anything yet, and was feeling sick because of it. So I went down to Vons and got a cheap deli sandwich and a soda. And some chapstick. My lip's still busted from that fight earlier in the week, and riding in the heat has been causing my lips to crack like crazy. So I sit outside and munch it down before I go on to my next stop. The place I used to work. The assistant manager there keeps breaking the computer and called last night while I was out practically crying about it. I used to fix the computer when I worked there. At least once a day. So I got there and did that, then left to the workplace I just got transfered from. Turning in my keys and whatnot. Shortest stop in the day.
Next...well, I have some extra money, and I'd been craving a certain sweet treat for most of this past month. Green Tea Frappacino from Starbucks. I might hate coffee, but I love some of the drinks there. While I was in the area, I wandered over to Hobbytown USA to check out what new minis they had. It pisses me off that the Space Wolves Codex isn't in print anymore. Supposedly they'll be releasing the new version of it next year. In the meantime there's no way for me to play the Vikings of Warhammer 40k. And the other army I wanna play is Chaos, and the new codex for that comes out in September, so there's no reason for me to get started on that yet either. Still, I got some nice inspiration. I think I'm gonna go with Chaos, with all the members being fallen space marines from different chapters. That way I get all the modeling opprotunities I could want, and the badass stuff that comes with Chaos.
Then I stopped by Borders and picked up a couple new books. One a translation of Beowulf (love Scandanavian mythology) and one a book about dragons in myth and new age spirituality. There wasn't any good looking fantasy or sci-fi books for me to pick up, unfortunately. Then I headed home. Takes me about half an hour or so from Sahara and Decatur to get home, and the heat outside doesn't make it any easier. First thing I did was get in the shower. That felt so good. Only felt better when I walked out of the bathroom and wandered into the path of a fan, still all wet.
Wow...looking at all that, I find it amazing I was so bored all day today. It was pretty busy, but lots of dead time between.
Anyways, now I'm going out to eat with a couple friends. This has been the first out and out good day I've had in a while.
Oh, and to the leather loving bear beauty, of course I'm still alive. This world isn't lucky enough to be able to get rid of me. Satan wouldn't allow it. I wonder how dear old dad is doing...
