These angels have fallen
Their wings have been clipped
A mother's sacred object
Ended at an instant
Ending by the hands
Of a man you've never met
War is so quick to judge
It only leaves them with regret
And how could we expect
For the families to forget
The pain that's been enforced
When all they did was show respect
A cause worth fighting for
Is not necessarily worth dieing for
A mistake can be restored
But a life can't be reborn
Medals can be worn
Except they carry death on their sleeves
Why can't they be awarded
For only keeping the peace
Your courage shouldn't be tested by how many lives you take
Is that what you'd want your epitaph to read when you're put in your grave
