Honestly I hate orientation stuff. I know that the paperwork is important (for one thing it helps in getting me paid) but it's the alcohol and tobacco junk that astonishes me.

There are 4 people in my orientation group. Me, another girl, and two men. Two of them are also cashiers, like myself, and both of them have been cashiers in other places as well. So it astonished me to learn that neither of them knew the Federal laws in regards to selling either type of product. Utah laws are a bit more stringent, but that one you can have the benefit of the doubt.

*sigh* I really need to go back to school. I am intelligent, and I know that if I had the opportunity to attend college again, I would finally apply my brain to something truly stimulating. (And not waste myself this time!) I think that's why I love beadwork so much. There is a lot of mental acrobatics involved in designing your own pattern, or trying to turn an image on a computer screen or in a book into reality with no bead master peering over your shoulder happily pointing out exactly where you are making a mistake.

Speaking of which, a second blue and gold ornament cover is done! I'm not going to do a fringe or leave the bottom open with this pattern because I love following the original design of the ornament. The shape is awesome.  And I have been examining the Victorian era ornaments, and not all of them were covered in fringe. Some of them were rich in material, but simple in pattern.

So yeah, I love these ornaments. I thought I'd end up throwing them away, because of their cheap-looking-ness, but the beads give them beauty. (In my humble opinion of course, but if you doubt me, come and look at 'em up close, I dare ya.) So I'm calling the makeover "From Dowdy Dime-store Modern, to Chic Boutique Victorian".

Yay for aliteration. ^_^
