I'm a grandma!
Ok, so I'm not in the strictest biological sense of the word. But when people think of grandmas they think of cooking, hugs, and crafty things. Or at least I do.
How many grandmotherly ladies in real life, movies and tv do the knitting in the rocking chair thing, looking absolutely blissfully happy?
My Oma did. She crocheted and knitted afghans for each of her 11 grandchildren (*sniff* mine still smells like her and she passed two months before I met my husband which was almost 5 years ago) and many many more that went to charities and people who would really love them.
And here I am, playing with my beads, watching Lord of the Rings after everyone has gone to bed. I'm happy as a leech in an artery! (Well . . . until it explodes! :P)
