Brian's car was stolen last night.
Actually, we're not sure yet how much of a bad thing this is. The car itself isn't a big loss if we can replace it... it was one headache after another, having to be fixed almost weekly. However, all of his auto-repair tools were in the trunk. If the Insuranse company will cover them as well, we might be able to get him a car that won't break down all the time, and we'll slowly rebuild his tool collection. If the Ins won't cover the tools, or has a max coverage (there were a lot of tools... way more than the value of the car), we're screwed, and not in a good way.
The police suggested 2 possibilities why the thieves might have chosen Brian's car, rather than the nice sports car next to it:
1) They're going to sell off the parts, or
2) They're going to use it to drive to the location of a crime (like a drug deal) and then dump it.
If it's the former, I'd hate to see the look on the mechanic's face when he opens it up...
... we bought it from Mindy's (my sister-in-law) brother, who is a farmer and a McGuiver fan. It has modified tractor parts in it. It's kind of like a Frankenstein's Car. It ought to boggle the guy's mind a bit!
Anyway, we could use anyone's thoughts and prayers... I'm hoping this will have a silver lining (like being able to replace it with something in better shape).
