It has been brought to my attention that the government of Alaska has brought back aerial hunting of one of the world's most beautiful species, wolves. In a post by CrimsonWolf, he stated:
"Well I saw this one coming from a mile away. Next year Alaska's game board is planning on lowering the Wolf population in a Nelchina Basin by between 100 and 250 wolves. This slaughter in Magrath opened the door and now the Alaska game board thinks they can play god with non-human lives. What they don't care to notice is that when they murder these wolves, they not only murder one soul, but destroy a pack. A pack is a family. They don't care if the kill alpha's or omega's, if they see a wolf they will murder it in cold blood. If they kill the Alpha's of the pack, the pup's will have little chance of survival.
Another thing that pisses me off about the Wolf slaughters is the fact that it is starting just before breeding season, and will also occur during breeding season. This is inhumane, seeing how this is a special time of the year for wolves. And humans will ruin it for them cuz they think they can play god.
Helping with the Air Slaughter, they are allowing the Air crews to have hunters on snowmobiles track, and scare wolves into the open areas.
These are careless acts to help with the greed of Alaska's game board. They can't control the hunting of Subsistence Hunters, Game hunters, or even freeloading poachers so they blame a creature who can't defend itself in the human political system, a creature they say is highly populating that is harming the Alaskan Environment. Wolves... It is obvious that they put the image of humanity on these beautiful creatures, cuz there are only around 10,000 wolves in Alaska, and they are not, AT ALL, harming the environment. While there are 655,000 humans in the state, driving polluting cars, possibly drilling for oil.
This isn't a battle of it not being endangered. Just because a creature isn't endangered doesn't mean you have the right to kill it off. Humans aren't endangered, there are 6 billion of us, yet if a person kills one human they are imprisoned. How is it that non-human lives are nothing, compared to human lives. So if they see it right to hunt non-endangered creatures, why can't I kill hunters, poachers or trouble members of our non endangered species."
