almost almost there

I keep being almost done. For the past week (month) I've been saying that just one more day will do it. This time I know I can do it. All I have left on my cycle is a little proof reading on my last song.

A bad thing:
-I wake up in the middle of the night singing my music, unable to get back to sleep. If I'm lucky, I won't also be worrying about money, graduation, or what I'm going to be doing in the Real World, so I'll be able to get back to sleep quickly. If I'm really lucky, there won't be noises outside my window. This morning I woke up thinking about my car insurance. There was a bird singing outside my window that sounded just like the alarm on my palm pilot and I had my new song stuck in my head. Needless to say, I'm exhausted today.

A few good things:
-I've made friends with a cat that lives in MacNaughton. It's warm enough these days that he's outside on a fairly regular basis, so I get to squish him when I walk to and from Prexy.
-My plan to dress with care and do my hair differently every day is really paying off. I feel like I look put together, even if I'm falling apart inside, and people remark positively on my appearance.
-The weather keeps getting nicer! The cherry trees held on for two weeks in Eliot Circle and some on campus haven't lost their petals yet. It smells like spring every day. I haven't had to wear a coat in the afternoon for a while.
-Chorus, collegium, and voice lessons are all going incredibly well. I know the Mozart Requiem like the back of my hand, so the only effort I need for chorus is the effort to stand and sing properly. The music we're singing in collegium, though I didn't know it before, is just as easy and possibly more fun to sing. Also, since I'm done with my solo performances for my entire college career (ack), my voice lessons have focused on fixing specific vocal issues, so I'm making incredible progress every week. It's quite satisfying.
