So this weekend there is a studio condo for rent in the paper for only $450/mo. I want it. Compared to the apartments around here this is nice ‘n cheap and it advertises 2 pools and an exercise room. I think I can afford it right now. I’m making about $1000 a month plus whatever shifts I pick up. Then once my loans come in when I start school in January, I’ll definitely be able to afford it.
The problem is while I can afford first months rent and a deposit, I don’t know if I can afford all the other little extras I want at the moment. I have most of the stuff bought for an apartment, but I’m thinking the rest may cost me around another $1000 because I really want to update my twin bed to something bigger. So this would mean I’d probably have to put the other stuff on a credit card and pay that off. It also means that the rare few times I do go out may get lessened due to affordability. I’m also a little iffy about a studio… I don’t think I’d mind it and I really don’t need anything better. I just can’t help but think I’d like something with a bedroom. The thing is something with a bedroom will cost me AT least $100 more a month.
It’s really a shame my roommate plans fell through.
On another note, does anyone know the best way to find a credit card with a low APR? Mine are just too high right now and I know I can get something with a lower APR, I just don’t know how to go about doing it? Do I keep watching the mail for my bi-weekly sales pitches from credit card companies? Or do I do something else?
