So my credit card statement came today and it was $20 more than I expected and I saw two transactions I had not been a part of on the bill.
After initially getting really concerned that the RMV was being run by a mob (I rarely use this credit card), I called the number on the back of the statement and reported my dispute.

"Anton" directed my call to the actual "merchant" who happened to be an online company called ShoppersDiscount. I have never been to their site. The very nice lady representing the company on the phone informed me that when I purchased the sheet music for "Skid Row" from MusicNotes.com I was automatically enrolled as a paying member of this sketchy web-deals organization. She said it like this:

"It's our way of giving back to our valued customers."

Really? Your way of giving back is to clandestinely enroll me in a service I didn't ask for which I have to pay $10 a month to?

After canceling my membership but not being offered a credit,  I searched my Gmail ( okay, Scott finally after three years you can say "I told you so" about this one), and did not find a single email from them telling me I was a member, giving me my password or ANYTHING. However I did receive the cancellation email complete with a reminder of what my name and password once were in case  I needed to re-enroll.

So in the morning I am going to try and get my money back on the basis that services promised and paid for were never rendered.

Meanwhile, I found out during the last few days that the place I was going to move into in Back Bay was all a scam. Some poor gulliable person is going to be out $2100 if the police don't stop this lady. She wrote to me and said we were all set to proceed, she had my name approved by the escrow board or something and I got a very official HTML document via email requesting a deposit of $2100. I told her I was uncomfortable sending money before seeing the place and I didn't want to put her through the trouble of flying over here if I wasn't going to like it. So I asked if a neighbor could show me around. She wrote back, very huffy and told me she was offended that I didn't trust her since she is trusting me. We corresponded a few more times, but since she never addresses my offer to continue as long as I could see the place (every time she writes she basically just accuses me of not making up my mind as if I'm not requesting something specific) I am giving up. A friend of mine at the Asylum pointed out that if you look closely at her pics it looks like a European apartment. All European appliances and stuff. The toilet is what convinced me. It's like none I have seen here. Even in Back Bay.

Today I had to re-work the entire play even though it goes up in a week because one of the kids who comes from a Christian family decided he can't play a wizard because he doesn't believe in them.

Sometimes I think it would have been easier if I had just decided to stick with ceramics. Darn you, 9 year old me!
