hideously hectic

life has been hectic, hideously so. alllllll of the boxes are FINALLY out of the apartment though! either squared away in the storage unit downstairs or with our friend. exciting. the fish have yet to be moved, but they're probably not going to be moved til after this weekend.
and how much does it suck that i have 2 religion tests on wednesday? but i feel decently prepared for both of them and i haven't even studied yet (thank gods for professors who believe in a class for review...)
and i have a new goal - to maintain contact with people i care about. this includes a few people from high school (kim, katie, kathleen, and amy, if i can find where the fuck they are... i know kim's in d.c., but search me for the rest of them..) and my 'older friends' (laura, randy) people abroad (kyla) as well as people here at western (dena, mary, becky, diane, and so on).
so if anyone knows amy michaels, kathleen bachynski, or katie walton, send their address my way, k?
there was a family i knew from home, in franklin. my sister and their daughter and son grew up together, so of course i knew the family pretty well too. last september the mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, basically a death sentence. i didn't see her after the diagnosis. she died yesterday morning. there are now two children without a mother and a husband without a wife. people keep telling me that there is no 'before her time', that she had done what she needed to do and so her time was over. i just can't accept that yet. the first 20 years of my life i didn't know anyone to die, except for my two grandfathers. then dani died in a car accident, then norm my minister died (of pneumonia, literally a month after he kicked cancer), then kelly died falling out of a window, now laura died.
on the upside i have a lot to talk about with my therapist.
