Digitizing History

May 07, 2011 02:02

Years ago, I decided to take on a personal project of digitizing an entire website I found that was devoted to Rushnychok, the Ukrainian cross stitching. The problem is it's format is that you can't print them, because the pattern gets messed up when you send it to the printer. But, the problem I had then was that there was no way to see the patterns without having access to the internet, since MS Paint couldn't save the entire pattern, either. Enter Google with their screen capping app. I was saved. So, in the last three weeks, I've been able to work on over fifty patterns. A few days ago, I finally finished saving all of the patterns to my computer, so that I can digitize them in the near future. I feel kind of like a superhero.
