[30] Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back

Ever since that injury curse, I've been wondering if there was something I could do. I mean, I know faeries can use glamour, but what about healing? I never learned that. Can they even do that? I'm sure some could, right ( Read more... )

you're damn right they're different. bella's vampire SPARKLES. i wish I was kidding. heroinbrand June 9 2008, 02:58:49 UTC
This is the only place where I've actually seen faeries, but if there are vampires and werewolves where I come from, then I wouldn't be all that surprised if I ever met a faerie back there.

I wouldn't be surprised. In my experience, faeries are just more well-hidden. Most humans can't see them. What kind of vampires and werewolves are in your world, if I can ask?

extremely pretty-boy. heroinbrand June 9 2008, 03:09:31 UTC
They're...different, I guess. They don't follow the stereotypical myths. I'm not sure if I should say something publicly, but I can filter it if you're really curious.

A lot of the vampires here aren't like the stereotypes, and then some are. And, sure? If you don't mind. I'm curious.

Well, the vampires I know are really pale with hard-skin. I mean, really hard-skin. Almost marble-like. They're not affected by garlic or crosses or anything either, not even the sun. Actually...they sparkle. Some have extra abilities too, like mind-reading. The ones I know don't feed off human blood, though; they go for animals instead. They're kinda considered the "freaks" of the vampire world.

The werewolves, well...it's hard to explain. They're extremely warm compared to the vampires, and neither like each other's scent. They can change at will and not at a full moon or anything, but when they change, they become huge, and are linked to each other's mind. They're also hard. I broke a hand punching one in the face, and he came out just fine. Sigh.

What about your world and faeries? You're one...right? That's pretty cool, actually.

Hard skin and sparkles? That is really different from the other vampires I've heard of..

So, it sounds like they have fewer weaknesses too. That's kind of scary. But at least there are the vampires that drink animal blood. I think one time I met one like that here.

I am, but I doubt many people would guess if I was placed next to other faeries. I'm a changeling. A pixie. So I was switched at birth with a human child. I don't know how old I was, maybe when I was a baby. Faeries like to swap babies a lot.

...

Wow. That's...I never heard of something like that. I'm guessing you were too young to remember your actual family?

I probably shouldn't have put "switched at birth" there. Oh well. faeriewhocanlie June 9 2008, 03:59:23 UTC

Nope. I don't know anything about my faerie parents or anything like that. I don't think I want to know, anyway. I already have a mom.

Well, I guess as long as you're happy where you are now, it shouldn't matter.

What can you faeries do, anyway? If you don't mind my asking, I mean.

Yeah. It's kind of hard to balance the faerie life and the human life, but it's worth it.

Uhm, well, a lot of them are pretty powerful, but in a different way than vampires or werewolves, I guess. Although some are good at fighting. But they're most really good with illusion, enchantment, trickery.. and glamour. It's the magic we use. They can change their appearances, make something look like something else, that kind of thing.
