[Since glamour was all magic by imagination, really, it was no wonder that the boat Kaye glamoured from a desk looked like a gondola, complete with fanciful swirling ends. But it could float. That was all that mattered.
And it wasn't like Corny and Kaye needed even more reasons to hate the ocean. Before Janet's death, Kaye actually liked it. How could you dislike something so calming and natural and so free of iron? But the ocean was really a lot scarier and deeper than that.
When the curse was over and the boat finally washed up on the shore, Kaye was asleep, leaning on Roiben or Corny for warmth. It was freezing.]
