Highlights from the most recent Cotter clan social gathering:
"We're just children! We don't know any better!" screams my little cousin as she and her brother beat up Colin for badly impersonating a tree.
"Come sit on my lap and we'll look at the melon" -My Uncle's completely serious but surprisingly ineffective attempt at trying to calm down his sugared-up children as we all sit around the dessert table. This sentence gave the rest of us fodder for about 20 minutes (after he left the room)"If you children are really good we'll look at the honeydew" "Daddy, can we watch the cassava tonight?...." and then became the catch-phrase for the rest of the evening.
PS I finally got the chance to finish Harry Potter. There was actually a point where I gasped in pain and threw the book across my bed, then opened it read the page again and sat in tears with my mouth open for a good ten minutes. I'm now on my way to England to smack J.K Rowling, curse her name to the heavens and then hug her and bake her cookies. Because I'm sure there'll be others with the similar ideas, I hope her Scottish castle has a draw-bridge or at least a trebuchet.
