I love weddings!!!
Well, I love friends' weddings ^_^
My little Devan got married yesterday! <3 I went up to Knoxville Friday night to help Devan and Miranda with flowers and bagging favors. I actually had a really good time. I never get to hang out with Devan, and I haven't seen Miranda in years :( We really need to hang out more.
So, after getting back home and 1:30am and falling into bed, I woke up around 6:30 am in order to get ready to go to this free pancake breakfast thing here in Athens. After all was said and done, I was running a little late, but going 90mph down the interstate has a way of cutting out some drive time *grins* I made it five minutes early! WOOT! I was there to help set up, pin the boys with flowers, etc. All went smoothly.
Now. Onto the show!
The wedding was WONDERFUL! Devan had Dylan (not her brother) sing "The Next Ten Minutes" from The Last 5 Years while Henry and his best man walked to the altar. It was so perfect. Then Devan started walking across the bridge (outdoor wedding) and I just started crying. The only other wedding I've ever cried at was Jenny's. I was just sooooo happy for her! And the look on Henry's face while she was walking down the aisle. *sigh* Of course, the best moment came during the reception. Miranda and I were blessed to hear Devan practice for us on Friday night, but when she got up in her wedding dress and was singing directly to Henry... man. She sang "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds with Rascon (sp?) playing the acoustic guitar. It is such a wonderful and appropriate song... and I was just crying a river. But, when she started crying while singing and Henry went to comfort her while she was still singing... that was just the most beautiful moment of the entire day.
The rest of the day was fun filled with hanging out, Rock Band playing, and food. ^_^
All in all, a perfect wedding <3 <3 <3
And it couldn't have happened to two better people <3
