Grrrr.....
My mother sent out an email about social security which basically implies that the Democrats are responsible for all its ills. It was one of those "fishy" emails, so I checked it out on snopes.com. Sure enough, the email was there in its entirety and turns out to be inaccurate.
One of my little pet peeves is emails like this that are sent around as gospel truth. I usually respond to the individual who sent it and give them the snopes link. I don't copy everyone on the email because I know I would be mortified if it were me. And mistakes happen.
Unfortunately, my mother responded that everyone puts their own spin on things and that you can't believe everything you read on the internet, including snopes.
Never mind that snopes lists their sources with links to the relevant data.

Of course, I should have expected this. Both she and her husband are very concerned about the liberal bent of the media and Fox News is their primary news source.
