...I thought I might spread the seed of boredom here. LOL.
Well anyway, here's some randomness for you. What are your favorite Halloween-season movies? I'll list mine and the reasons for each.
Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula -- my first vampire love and one of my favorite movies.
Young Frankenstein -- Love the violin, love the whole parody thing. And Gene Wilder rocks. Abby Normal, LOL.
Interview With the Vampire/Queen of the Damned -- The first is one of my all-time favorite movies. The second sucked (not in a good way) but has an awesome soundtrack and will at least get you in the Halloween mood. After all, kids masquerade as monsters and "Queen" masquerades as a Vampire Chronicles adaptation.
Halloweentown and its sequels -- Cheesy Disney fun. If it doesn't make you want to carve a pumpkin, nothing will. Young girl and her siblings are brought to the world of Halloweentown, where they have roots they didn't know about, and are told they are from a long line of witches. Starring Debbie Reynolds.
The Monster Squad -- Cheese-fest ahead. Makes me think of caramel apples and my childhood. Misfit kids band together and battle all manner of monsters, then try to escape a vortex as it sucks in all the baddies. They fight Dracula and befriend Frankenstein. Yeah, it's a very cerebral movie.
The Worst Witch -- The corniest movie ever made, yet I love it for the sentimental value. My best Halloween memories in childhood include coming home from school to see this on HBO and then getting ready for Trick-or-Treating when it was over. Features a hopelessly clumsy witch named Mildred who attends a boarding school for witches. Think Hogwarts, but not nearly as cool. Any chance to see Tim Curry out of drag and wearing a giant bat necktie as his hair turns all colors of the rainbow is a good time. Fairuza Balk debuts.
Hocus Pocus -- the cheese-fest continues. Classic Disney humor, brushed with the pen of propriety. Three witch sisters are awoken and go after the town's children in a very pied-piper manner. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker play the sisters.
Nightmare Before Christmas -- Need I say more? I love this movie to tiny little bits. Also one of my favorite Christmas movies.
All of the Harry Potter movies -- also self-explanitory.
Rocky Horror Picture Show -- Tim Curry in fishnets. Susan Sarandon shagging Frank-N-Furter's monster. Dammit, Janet, what's not to like???
Okay, I've shown you mine, now you show me yours.
