What's with all of this that I'm hearing about people moving because their journals may or may not be sacked by these so-called watch dog groups? What ever happened to the First Amendment? You know, the one that says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." I would like to point out that the scope of the Amendment doesn't apply JUST to Congress. These so-called watch dog and protection groups are violating YOUR First Amendment rights, authors. You have the privilege and the freedom to write what you want, no matter how graphic or where you live. As live journal is based in the United States, you are protected by that Amendment, and there are plenty of cases that have gone to the Supreme Court to back me up. You have graciously put up warnings and anti-liability statements, and if these net nannies try to start shutting down your journals, to hell with them. If they are so concerned about what their kids are reading on the internet, it's THEIR fault for not controlling what their kids are exposed to, not yours for writing it. Step up and take some responsibility, parents; quit pointing the finger at the rest of us.
