There's more to life than books you know, but not much more.

Well, I guess I have been meaning to update about a number of things and I've been too excited about other things in my life to bother, but here goes nothing...

The first thing I wanted to talk about was the camping trip I took a few weeks ago! (Memorial day weekend, whenever that was, heh.) I was sorta nervous going into it because I have had bad experiences at similar camp-outs before, but this had to have been one of the best experiences in my whole life. Everybody who came was totally awesome, and the whole event was filled with some of the most respectful and interesting and awesome people I have ever met. I never once felt weird, and there was only one time somebody messed up my pronouns (and then quickly corrected it). I even met this really cool guy named Rye 'N, and we had some really great conversations. He's friends with this awesome artist who I met (and stayed in his living room) back here in Pittsburgh ages ago named Orion, and so I'll probably get a chance to see him again shortly cause he comes down here to visit Orion quite often.

I also fell in love with Ithaca, NY when we went there on Monday with Rye 'N. It's so cool! I love how you can bike anywhere you would possibly want to go there within the city, and that just a few minutes out of the city they have some of the prettiest wilderness I have ever seen. The waterfalls there are gorgeous. I have definitely put Ithaca on my list of places that I am considering moving to someday.

Since then I've mostly been just dealing with the rest of normal life again. I've had a bunch of job interviews, but no luck yet. I'm trying not to let it bother me since so much good stuff is going on for the most part, but sometimes it makes me feel really hopeless. I've been really glad during these last weeks though for all my great friends who are still sticking by me, particularly Nik (dracula_disco ), Leo (slashmarks ) and Miles, who probably have no clue how much I adore them just for being awesome. :)

This past weekend however was sorta cool. Nik and I went to Pride to be part of a Pink and Black bloc that happened there. It turned out to be a lot more militant than I expected; In fact, we totally pissed Macy's off a great deal by sneaking into the march right behind them and chanting things like "Queers yes! Macy's No! this corporate shit has got to go!" but mostly I was glad to see both Nik and Miles, as well as a ton of other people I haven't seen in forever from various places in my life. It was sorta awkward though at various points because a) a lot of the people that organised the pink and black bloc used to be friends of mine, but now they barely talk to me... and b) I hate how damn invisible I am in the queer male community. Everybody kept asking if Nik and I were girlfriends (when we're both guys for anybody that doesn't know him) and I just ended up feeling really bad about that even though I know it wasn't my fault at all. :/... I have also come to the conclusion that homo-normative guys aren't very attractive or interesting, but that there are a ton of cute trans guys in Pittsburgh.

I will probably update later this week again because it seems like there's gonna be a lot of cool things going on. Friday I'm going to get to see Marie, and Saturday there's a Steampunk picnic that Nik and I think Julian are going to be at as well, and yeah, I'm pretty excited.

That's all for now.
