There are many of you whom I owe things to at the moment- 'art' from the meme, emails, messages, drinks, time and love. Actually no. You get the last one even when I'm busy and distracted.
Recently I've been very busy and distracted which is why y'all haven't received any of the above things. Life has been crazy and hectic and other such things but, above all, good. I've been busy but i've been enjoying it. Woop. Even work is fun in a mundane, monotnonous, I-don't-want-to-do-this-for-much-longer-but-I'm-enjoying-the-time-to-heal-my-mind-and-spirits, kind of way.
I'm ill today - earache, wheezing, can't get warm- so today I'm not busy and hectic and I'm not at work.
Large parts of this fun I've been having has been related to my birthday. I had a simply spiffing time on every day of my celebrations (I believe in fun!) and want to thank those of you who attended/sent wishes/cards/thoughts etc- you're all awesome. Almost as kickass as dragons in fact. I haven't finished the tidy up after the party yet becuase it was the messiest yet. David believes the chair, a casualty of too much fun on saturday, to be fixable. I don't but think there's hope for the bed settee. I also don't care too much as there are always more chairs to be found.
I was pleased at the various comments people made appreciating the music on saturday (and marked out the people who were making derogatory comments to be first in line for the hamster apocalypse) as I spent two months making
that playlist.
If you haven't already done so may I suggest that you read
Temeraire by
naominovik. Dragons in the Napoleonic wars. Beautifully written and oddly believable fantasy. If fantasy isn't your thing, hell even if dragons aren't your thing, I'd suggest trying it anyway as the story itself isn't fantastical. They're fighting Napoleon, they're just in the aerial corps. The relationship between Temeraire and Laurence is phenomenal, both of them growing and changing. Both of them truly caring about how their actions affect those around them. I can't rate these books highly enough. Seriously guys, read them!
And now I am tired and cold again so I'm going to have a nap.
