Rough Week
So yeah, I've had a pretty rough week. It all started last Saturday, when my mom told me that the doctors found that she now has brain cancer. She started out with breast cancer. She had a mastectomy, but the cancer spread to her breast bone. You can't get rid of bone cancer, you can hope that radiation kills it... But now she has several large cancerous brain tumors. They can't do anything but more chemo and radiation. It was horrible saturday, because the doctor pulled my dad out of the hospital room and told him that my mom could die at any time... tomorrow, next week, next month. Everyone was upset and crying. Then yesterday, we found out that the doctor had GREATLY exaggerated the prognosis. Her regular doctor told her that if she did NOTHING, no radiation, no chemo, NOTHING, then she would have 3-6 months. But if she does do radiation & chemo and other such treatments, then she could have 3+ years. We're all really angry at the first doctor... I mean how terrible is it to make someone think their mom is going to DIE,... and possibly the next day?! The nerve!
So anyway, on Monday, I had a hellacious migraine and called out of work. It ended up going away, but I still ended up using the PTO to cover it.. and on Tuesday Amy (
dragonflyfaith) came to visit me, so I used up another day of PTO there. Don't get me wrong, it was TOTALLY worth it! I basically ended up with a 4 day weekend... which I haven't had in forever!
Then yesterday, my phone/internet got shut off because EMBARQ fucked up. they tried to claim that we owed them $260 when we didn't. Thankfully, by the time I got off work, it was all straightened out. Which is a very good day considering that it was a super busy day at work, and as stressed as I was, I might have killed a random EMBARQ employee, just for the fun of it.
Then today, was Pay-The-Rent-Day, which is usually not a bad day. Today however, was rotten. Kenny went to work to get his check, and he went to the bank to withdraw the money for the the rent, and he was missing money! It turns out that the bank had charged a maintenance fee on his checking out, which overdrew the account, therefore adding an overdraft fee. And they they charged a maintenance fee on his savings account too! So we ended losing almost $100 (the ONLY money we would have to live on this week!) Now, these accounts are NOT supposed to have fees and Kenny brought the paperwork stating this back to the back and the teller told him it would take 10-14 days to get the money back IF he's able to get a refund. WTF?!?!?! You fuck up and it takes you a nanosecond to deduct the account, but we CATCH you and suddenly you don't know if you can return it and IF you can it takes 2 fucking weeks!?!?! Hell fucking NO!
Let me just say one thing: "Don't ever, EVER trust Bank of America!! They will steal your last penny from you, and then fuck you sideways!!! Nothing but a bunch of Crooks!" So basically, they've left us with only about 20 dollars to live a whole week. I was planning to go grocery shopping, which now I can't do. ARG! I think I'm just going to give up...
