(no subject)
Busy Jess is busy. Yesterday I did a shift at the Union (Uni is pretty much a ghost town at the moment, just staff and a few summer school students), gave my blonde boss Jen bright purple streaks, walked to the Haymarket campus to pay my library fines so I can receive my marks/ graduate, met Jaffle-Jess for mexican for tea and completed the evening with Pants Optional tying second for trivia. Today was Orientation work (turns out I kick arse at proofreading/ factchecking, all that betaing/ editing has paid off!) and then I skiived off early to go to the Union xmas party. Got there in the middle of the lunch/ speeches so I feasted on ham and pudding, wore a slutty Santa bikini (over my clothes) and scored some movie tickets, a giftcard and a Hot To Crochet DVD in the lucky door prizes. The afternoon culminated in a waterfight before we got kicked out of our own function centre because there was a proper event on that night and the staff were freaking out about the mess we'd made (not to mention the wet footprints everywhere *LOL* oops). Jaffles then came over to our place for once for our TV date as I had baking and packing to do.
Off to Melbourne in the morning, I think I've got everything ready bar my carry-on. meredyth_13 is a legend who has agreed to collect me from the airport in exchange for xmas pudding and cuddles. omegamorningsta and nuwishas_tail are putting me up for the weekend because they're awesome and I can't wait to spend some proper time with them that isn't limited to a single meal or a rushed sightseeing tour.
I fly home Monday evening, so I'm thinking I'll try and find somewhere in the city to stash my suitcase and wander the art gallery/ Queen Vic markets/ something until I have to head back to the airport, unless anyone happens to have the day off and wants to join me for lunch? :)
