California dreamin

Welcome to loverly southern California, where the skies are clear and the temperature is a balmy 61 degrees.

Er...what? I really wasn't that excited to come to California for this wedding. The only thing I was really looking foreward to was a chance to get away from the gloom and doom of Wisconsin in November. Granted, sunny and sixty is better, but I was hoping for sunny and seventy. Ah, well...

Also - I've officially hit the 150 mark on the scale again, so it's time to watch the weight again. I really don't want to go to Mexico this January looking like a sausage exploding out of its casing when I put on a swimsuit. So I'm thinking drop about twenty pounds in a little over a month - totally doable. I have a gym membership; let's use it!

NCIS fandom is really starting to piss me off. I just read this little ficlet that had a cute if cliched premis and not a whole lot of substance to it. It was fun to read, but it wasn't exactly gonna set the world on fire. On top of that, English was obviously not the author's native language, because the grammar was really spotty. So, I left a comment saying the fic was a fun little read, but the grammar made it pretty hard to read and she may want to consider getting a native English beta to help her with that.

I recieved no fewer than five replies (none of which came from the author herself) calling me a troll and a hater. So I did some research and looked at the reviews from other NCSI bad!fic and I could not find a single iota of constructive criticism. Every comment ran along the lines of "zomg! This is so good! Plz continue." What happened, NCIS? Where did rebbecca and KSL and Sequiter and Richefic and crimsonquills go? What happened to genuine comment on plot development and characterization and how badly the authors were effing up cannon? When did we turn into Harry Potter?

I still love fandom, but I am very disappointed.
