Quantas flight to LA
Times according to Melbourne's time zone. 11April 2013:
12:37 - I am flying on Quantas, my food preference is listed as vegetarian(Asian). I got daal masala, aloo gobi, and rice for my main course. This might be the best airline food I have ever had. I had a cadbury boost candy as my dessert but was able to get the flight attendant to trade it for a salted caramel chocolate mouse. Yum!
13:16 - Just above the tray table is a mini tv screen that you can adjust brightness, contrast and angle on. The movies and tv shows are free, and are not just new releases. I just watched 'A Passage to India' and 'Annie Hall' for the first time. 'Witness', 'The Accused', 'Dead Man Walking' and 'Good Night and Good Luck' are others I may go through on this flight that I have not seen.
13:22 - Ohh! Update! they have interactive basic language courses on this screen thingie as well. Lets start with Korean and go from there!
14:50 - It has been an hour or turbulence, not allowed to get up to pee, and no food/drink service. My tummie is grumbling, and my wine is wearing off. My whine will be kicking in soon.
14:58 - Yong, il, ee, sam, sa, go, yook, chil, pal, ku, sip, sib il, sip ee, sip sam, sip sa, sip o, sim nyook, sip chil, sip pal, sip ku, ee sip... sam sip... sa sip... go sip... yook sip... chil sip... pal sip... ku sip... paek... chon...
Yeah! I can count to 1,000 in Korean now!

16:35 - Looks as if I have seen 'Witness' before. A long time ago though. Still hungry. Also have cold toes. I found out that the USB jack in my arm rest will charge my phone
16:45 - In between American Samoa and Christmas Island... I just received an email. My phone is on flight mode. We have no WiFi. WTF?
19:27 - So, I have the vegetarian Asian meal choice. I was given a grilled carrot and zucchini sandwich on wheat bread. Everyone else got sun dried tomato french bread pizza. I am failing to see how grilled carrot and zucchini on wheat is more Asian than sun dried tomato pizza on french bread. I am not complaining. I just wanted rice...
22:23 - You know you got the right meal choice when breakfast comes out and is so spicy it makes you sweat in a 60F airplane. My seatmates were jealous. Couscous and very very spicy daal. Wow. Still breathing fire.
22:47 - 4th wine in preparation for landing. Wine, actually all alcohol is free on international flights on Quantas.
22:52 - Just over 12 hours in the air. We just were warned that we landing shortly. I've seen 'The Accessed' as well before. I don't thing that I will finish 'Dead Man Walking' before we land.
