I have an aunt, who once tried to commit suicide--or so I hear, from snippets of gossip among family members, since no one has ever wanted to talk about it directly in front of the "children". To tell the truth, I don't think it has anything to do with wanting to keep it from the next generation. They're probably just all in denial.
There's a certain level of contempt and fear "normal" people have towards the concept of suicide. To some people, the urge to kill oneself is absolutely foreign; anything that goes against wanting to survive and persevere is unnatural, cannot be instinctual.
But when you get urges to harm yourself physically, with no conscious reasoning behind it, I have to wonder if it could be considered part of nature. A weeding out, perhaps? I digress.
Whether or not it is healthy to have thoughts of suicide... I leave other people to decide that for themselves.
There's a lot I could profess to. However, the uncertainty remains, locking the ideas within.
Glimpses of "normal" people result in stabbing, bittersweet urges.
It's all gone.
