This is sort of neat. Some of the things mentioned for spectating (that's a word now, if it wasn't before) sound a little far-fetched and not quite affordable for the common fan/enthusiast, but otherwise it sounds very cool.
Being the velocity freak that I am, I'll be happy if it manages to last more than a few years/seasons of racing. We can use another form of high speed competition.
...It sort of brings to mind the barnstormers and plane racers of the 1920s and 1930s. I wonder how regulated the fuselage designs will be. A 21st Century version of the
Gee Bee would be...interesting, to say the least. When you look at the photo at the top of
this page, you can see just how large the engines were, when compared to the height of an average man.
