I went to see the one-acts at my school yesterday. Each grade does one, and its kind of a fun event. Overall though, I must admit I was not impressed. Oddly enough, I thought the seniors were by far the worst...Maybe it was just that the script was unappealing to me, but I thought all the performances were rather stiff as well. Actually, I thought the juniors were probably the best, performance-wise. They did one called, "This Is Just A Test", and it was pretty funny. The sophmores had the best script though, I think. They did this parody-thing of Hamlet, which was, at times, quite amusing. I think you had to have some knowledge of the original play to appreciate it though. Most of the laughs came the crossdressers (they had all the guys playing girl parts and vice-versa, which actually was pretty funny). I would've liked to be in that one...Not that I would want to be a sophmore again, obviously.
I want to be on stage!!! Gahhh! It is driving me crazy, seriously. I want to take a class somewhere, but most of the winter sessions have already started, I think. I think next time I see Susan or Brian I will ask if TOY has classes--I think they do, but the website didn't say anything about it. I wanted to do stage crew for the musical (can you imagine me singing on stage?!), but apparently, they've already done sign-ups for that. I wish they would announce things like that on the morning announcements; I never go by the call-board in the music wing, which is where they announce stuff like that. Sigh.
