The Sith Arising

The Sith that escaped the battle saw the Republic and Jedi weakend to the point of oppertunity. The one who stepped forwards to quell the infighting, set down rules, knowing he would live only so long.
1. Sith shall not kill Sith.

This rule was instituted so that if they truly wished ot do each other harm it would need to be indirectly thus weeding out the stuipd and unworthy.

2. One will rule over all.

This rule was instituted to maintian a structure, an organization among the Sith. Teh Leader was to be chosen through a Ritual duel between the current Emporer and the challenger. More often then not this too the form of the apprentice challenging the Master.

3. Each Sith Lord will have only one student.

The struggle for power was goign to be increasingly hard to curb within the Sith so the Emperor instituted this rule. Each Elite Sith Lord would chose only one student from amongst the ranks of the Dark Ones, one worthy to be a true focus for the Dark Side.

4. Do not allow a Jedi to live.

To focus that ferosity the Dark Sdie generated among them, he layed down a difinative rules calling for the death of any Jedi. IT is the true elite that can wade into a battle field of Jedi and return with the sabres of every Jedi his eyes fell upon.

The Sith then set about building a true Empire to face the JEdi adn REpublic with. It began slwoly atfirst seeding unrest on many republic worlds to near the point of rebellion. Stirring the pot and spreading decent was not difficult for the more subtle of the Sith.
MAny of these worlds ceceeded from the REpublic, and were organized under one banner though not yet under the Sith flag. A 'new' power was arising in the universe and to most seemed benevolent. This new power institued "administrative offices" which slowly compelted the corruption of it's peoples and turning them more and mroe to the will of the Sith.
Money, both aquired and stolen, combined with the Darkside began aquiring them an fleet whihc would "defend and patrol the borders" of this new government. Truely 75% of it was amassing for a focused strike within the republic to begin their battle fo galactic dominance.

The Jedi continually warned the Republic about this growing power sencing nothing but darkness spreading from that area of space. Knowing the Sith were still out there, the Jedi tried their best to gather up defences before the storm broke upon them.

Teh storm truely did break upont he republic in the form of a blitzing strike against the republic world of Duro. The victory was swift and prescise. Withing a few monthes several other republic worlds fell to their troops and the citezens falling to their propaganda. The Sith proudly declaired their true banner and thus the war began anew.
In the initiall century of the war between these great powers, the Sith took massive ground fromt he Republic, always seeing to be severl steps ahead of the best war planners of the republic. It was discovered later that the Bothans had, for decenades been secretly working for the Sith as Master assassins and spies.
The Sith in their war made much headway until a change was noticed within the Jedi. Thsi cahnged began to hold the Sith at bay turning the tide towards a once more level playing feild.
This war ebbed and flowed for thousands of years; moments of all out war, coupled with moments of standoffish complacentsy. IT wasn't untill (time referance a few years after Episode I) that a truely devious mind hatched a malsious enough plan that it may truely topple the republic...
