Have I mentioned that the details are the most difficult part of planning a wedding? ::laughter:: I'm in a fantastic mood today, however, because I managed to set up an appointment with an officiant for Wednesday @ 3:30pm! This would be with the woman who actually works at the Greenbank Mill. I'm very excited to get to meet her! And, with any luck, we can pay the rest of what we owe for booking the Mill while we're there. That would be lovely. :D
I've written a ceremony. ::laughter:: And no, I'm not kidding. I wrote the whole damn thing. I borrowed heavily from a few sources, moved things about, changed the wording until I liked it, and wrote the ceremony for our handfasting. It may very well get changed a bit more, but at least I have a starting point now. Sound like a lot of work? Tell me about it! ::laughter:: But, it was kind of fun, too. And, I like what I have, which is a plus. Honestly, the writing of the ceremony is my big news for this post... :) I'm quite proud of myself! It should stand up, I think... it's very much what I want and like... and it should be subtle enough that it won't offend anyone (namely, my family).
Also, I have found a woman online who custom makes handfasting cords! Woot!! ::laughter:: I'm really happy about this. She has a particular style that I like called the "Flesh and Bone" handfasting cord. It's simple, unlike most of her others - only one wooden charm (of the Goddess, at that), and it's made out of strips of leather (two brown shades, one white). I sent her an email to ask her if she'd be able to make it without the Goddess charm (as our families are Catholic, and not likely to receive that over-well), and with our wedding colors (blue, silver and black). She got back to me quickly about it, and said that she didn't know if she would be able to find silver colored leather, but she could use another material for that color if she couldn't, and the cost of the cord without a charm. (By the way, the colors stand for the following : Blue for either safe journey, longevity & strength (if it's dark) or tranquility, understanding, patience and health (if it is light) -which reminds me that I should ask. Silver for creativity, inspiration & vision, and protection. Black for strength, empowerment, wisdom/vision, success, and pure love. Yay!)
Okay, and that is all for now.... :)
