Do you go to school, work, etc?: I just left an 8-year job as a medical analyst for a trauma hospital. I currently go to school full-time, working on my BS in Public Health Studies, but am working on transferring to a new school.
Any children?: Nope.
Any Pets?: I have an 65-lb bloodhound/lab mix named Angua and the keeping of a geriatric tuxedo cat referred to as The Sir.
What is your living situation like?: Lovely big apartment with the tiniest roommate.
Love life?: Low-key.
Do you have any disabilities/disorders?: Nothing relevant. Severe myopia, I guess :P
Top hobbies/interests?: Reading, knitting, cross-stitch, watching movies
Do you have a life philosophy or anything like that?: Life's too short to waste being unhappy. Find your bliss. (I might have gotten that wording from kitiara, I think.)

Ginger. I have legally changed my last name three times (marriage, divorce, marriage), my first name once, and tweaked my middle name around a bit too. We do not discuss my original first name, so don't ask. Thanks. :)

I live in Muncie, Indiana, in a lovely large apartment with my best-beloved tiny roommate, my dog, and the Sir.
04. OCCUPATION
I am a Certified Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders, which means I have letters after my name. However, in May 2012 I left my job of eight years as a clinical data analyst and forms coordinator at a major hospital in Seattle, which involved designing and maintaining billing documents, doing medical coding, handling a lot of billing issues, and generally whatever needed doing.

I have no formal attachments.
06. KIDS?
I am childfree -- of the sane variety, not the intarwebs crazy sort -- and have been all my life. But I have several parent friends on my LJ who would, I hope, vouch for my lack of crazy in this regard.
07. BROTHERS/SISTERS
My brother is 2 years younger than me, married to a sweet lady with two kids from a previous relationship who adore him, and lives in the mid-Michigan area. Doc, their first child together, was born on 1/5/2012, which was also his big sister's 11th birthday. My sister is four years younger than me. I don't see them often, but we get along much better now that we're adults. Well, my brother and I do. My sister and I get along a little better, but not much.

09. LIST THE 3-5 BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE
If I read this as "things that take up most of my time and energy...
a. I am in school full-time, working on my BS in Public Health Studies through an online program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. However, I am in process of applying to transfer to Ball State University because UNCG is awful for online students.
b. I also love to read - especially historical non-fiction and auto/biographies, alternative history, and epic fantasy/SF series.
c. I left Seattle at the end of May to move back to the Midwest and take the rest of the year off, and will be spending a good bit of time in the first half of 2013 traveling.
d. Traveling and spending time with friends.
10. PARENTS
My parents were married in 1975. My mother is also a medical coder/biller (she was thrilled when she found out I was sticking with medical coding and finance) for a small family practice in Grand Ledge, and my father has been half-owner of a small office furniture and supply store in Lansing since 1988. They live just south of Lansing with two cats.
11. WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS?
Wally and Ari are the best-beloved gentlemen of my heart, dinh and ka-mai together. Joyce is heart-sister, Cookie is fox-sister, Christine is shield-sister.
12. MISC:
I drive a 2009 Smart Passion named Mira. I also have two computers -- a Macbook Air named Sinclair and a Mac Mini named Sheridan. I use both Windows 7 and Mac operating systems and do not participate in or sanction OS wars. I hate talking on the phone.
