My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work.

Okay, my brain is crying for something to do. Therefore, DRABBLE REQUEST TIME.

Hey, it works for me.

Give me lyrics/quotes as the prompts this time and characters, please. Most of y'all know my fandoms, or you can ask for some of my OC work, this time.

Ling shook his head. "That's it, I'm calling Ran Fan, and she's helping you to bed." This conversation could go bad in so many senses of the word. And what was worse was that Ling wasn't sure what he'd do if it did. He was attracted to Winry. Had been before the Greed thing. But they'd saved the world and she'd married Ed and he became king and they were friends. He managed to get over it. And now she was at odds with her husband, in his room, half-drunk, and saying things that weren't good for either of them. Especially him, since now, with her so close he was wondering if maybe...

He stood and made to call for his bodyguard; Winry grabbed his hand. "Ling."

"Winry, no. This isn't going to end well, and we both know it. You're married."

She laughed humorlessly. "Yeah, to a selfish, cold man who wasn't even that good in bed. He could be sweet, but he wasn't romantic. I thought maybe that romantic things just weren't for me, but then I saw Roy and Riza, Ed and Mai, and I get...jealous. I want what they have, Ling."

Ling sat back down, closer to Winry. "And where do I come in, Winry? We're friends." And it was hurting him to see Winry like this. Anger flared when he remembered why she was like this--because Ed was too thick to see what he had and instead went looking for more.

A pause, and Winry let go of Ling's hand. "You're right," she said, resigned. "I don't..."

Ling shushed her. "Stop," he murmured. "Stop being depressed, Winry."

"I can't do that alone, Ling."

Dammit all. She was married. To a man he considered (had considered, now he wasn't so sure) his best friend.

Somehow, those thoughts became decidedly less important when he leaned in and kissed her. They vanished completely when she kissed back.

That was a most interesting way to take it! I was especially intrigued by this little bit:

Winry shrugged and glanced around. Her eyes landed on Ling's bed. "Tell me, Ling," she began, "what's it like?"

"What's what like?" He moved closer and moved the bottle away. Somehow, he was getting the idea that inviting her for drinks had been a bad idea.

"This." She gestured to his room. "Finally getting what you wanted in life?"

That seems like such a...very Winry kind of question. Dig a little deeper and you can really see just how much more is being asked and told with it.

eee /snugs. Thank you, thank you.
