It took us a long time to decide what to do for you, mostly because we had a hell of a list of options. After hours of contemplating, pros and cons lists, and all sorts of other decisive factors, we decided. We hope you enjoy. ^_^ We miss you and we hope you have a spectacular birthday--live it up!

This is written as Nao/Ash from some time during the trilogy stories. We basically wanted to give you more Ash. ^_^ Happy birthday

Though things were tentative in their current situation, Nao was hopeful for what was to come. It was the first time he'd been legitimately hopeful in months. His heart had been so very cold and empty for a while that the blood now pumping through it felt like a new life rushing through is veins. His emotions were overall muted, but the fact that something lingered under the formerly numb drummer was a welcomed reprieve. He remembered being cheerful, he remembered laughing and he remembered loving life. Somehow that had all disappeared in the chaotic existence that he and his had adopted out of need, not desire.

"What was she like?" Ash heard Nao ask quietly, cutting through the calm air around them. Ash, with a small bucket of warm water at his side, ran a soapy cloth along the exposed skin of Nao’s back. Ash had convinced him, after they'd been with their sick friend, that it would be ideal to bathe. To rid his body of the dirt and grime that didn’t accumulate just physically, but emotionally too. There was no running water in the cabin, though that didn't matter in the grand scheme of things; so long as they had access to fresh water. The small pool of heated water in the basin had been warmed by fire off in the corner of the room that was Nao's since they all arrived.

Ash didn't speak; instead, he watched his work, ensuring he cleaned every square of Nao's skin. The fact that they'd been intimate, mentally, was still raw in Ash's very being and he was somewhat shaken by it. Therefore, he focused on that which was comfortable to him; that being cleaning, in this case - Nao's body. Nao was not visibly dirty before, but Ash had asked for the other man to let him. Nao had hesitated before Ash gently offered a 'please' and in that moment the drummer was unable to deny him. It was a series of body image issues that kept him from agreeing first thing. Yet he was helpless to Ash, unable to deny him anything if he wanted it. Logically, Nao knew that there was nothing to be ashamed of; however, he couldn't push that aside to agree without any hesitation.

Ash's fingertips moved against the soft, perfect flesh slowly to ensure that no spots missed his attention. He leaned back and placed the cloth in the warm water and drew it back out, prepared to continue his work. "She who?" He asked, drawing the warm water across Nao's naked back. The drummer sat up a little straighter, surprised by the sensation. It lingered somewhere between Ash tickling and caressing him. Nao certainly enjoyed it, but he couldn't say how comfortable it was. It was more exciting than anything, particularly as he could tell Ash was taking special care in cleaning every inch of his body and figured it wouldn't stop until the whole thing was done to his perfect standards.

"Your daughter." Nao responded after Ash caught the last drip of water that trickled down the middle of his back.

Again, Ash was silent as he worked. His head tipped to the side as he considered his response. No part of him was closed off about the topic, he was simply engrossed in what he was doing. Ash enjoyed his project and he was relishing in how much ease it brought to his frazzled mind. He drew the cloth over Nao's shoulder and down his right arm before scooting around to the side so he could wash the limb with the same attention he'd given to Nao's back. He watched the skin of Nao's shoulder go shiny from the water; he leaned forward and pressed his lips lightly to the fair skin before he sighed softly.

Carefully, he took Nao's wrist and lifted his arm so he could clean the under side with the same attention and care as he did the rest of him. "Lynnie. We called her Lynnie. It's sort of a family tradition for the boys to be have the suffix 'ton' on their names and Lionel girls typically have a 'lyn' on the end. My sister for example, is Caitlyn. Payton you know, but his daughter is Evelyn and his son is Colton. As for my daughter--Tee thought would be clever to name Ashlyn. There couldn't be two Ashes - though Lynnie would have liked that I'm sure - so we called her Lynnie."

Ash moved around in front of Nao and carefully slid the water bowl over to him, slowly as to ensure he didn't spill any of the liquid. He drew Nao's left arm forward and gingerly moved the cloth against Nao's arm, once more enthralled with his task. Even Nao‘s eyes seemed set on Ash‘s work, his eyes wide and unblinking as he diligently observed. "She was very much like Tee. Sort of energetic, untamable but she rather fancied me. She was two when she died, but she mimicked everything I did. Her hands were just as raw from washing them as mine were. She used to try to help clean up too, with a little cleaning set her grandmother bought her--she was terrible at it.. It wasn't easy - children are filthy." He snorted. If given the proper amount of consideration to whom Ash was, it would be understood that it was meant to be his version of a laugh.

Ash drew his hand back and placed the cloth in the water again. They were kneeling, both with their legs folded under them, across from one another. Ash reached forward, after the sat in silence for a few moments, and took Nao's hands. He pulled him to his feet and then turned back to retrieve his cloth. "She would have been four and a half this month." Ash realized how much taller he was than Nao when he moved to clean the other's chest. He smirked, the next best thing to a smile from Ashton Lionel.

Like with Nao's back, Ash’s hand moved with skill and attention over the muscles in Nao's chest without missing a spot. They were near to one another and Nao's naked, exposed body was as aware as his head was. The way Ash's hands moved over his skin sent ripples of pleasure and excitement through him in ways Nao wasn't entirely ready for. His mind was drawn to the serenity and hope Ash gave while his body was eager from the attention that was presented to him. "Again, I have to point out that it was an experience I had. I don't look back sadly, in fact I don't look back at all. I'm glad to be where I am, even this very moment." As he spoke, Ash was aware of how close his mouth had moved to Nao's, hovering only inches away from the other. As their breath mingled, Nao knew he didn't want to wait to taste Ash's lips. He leaned forward and captured Ash's lips against his own suddenly, forgetting a majority of what Ash had been doing previously.

Ash seemed to be of the same mindset as he didn't stumble or miss the movement, accepting Nao's kiss with no hesitation. There was a time in Ash's life he would have been less confident in regard to intimacy; when he would have shuttered at the idea of sharing saliva with another person in something as enigmatic as a kiss. But that time was gone, or it was a matter of the partner he had that made it comfortable for him to experience. Whatever it was, Ash accepted the natural flow of their physical encounter. He felt Nao's tongue pass his own and they both sank heavily into the passion of their kiss. It made Nao’s body relax, almost melt against Ash, and Ash felt his own hands slip in around Nao’s waist. It was just as pleasurable as the feeling of Ash’s fingers and the cloth against his skin and Nao drank in every intoxicating moment that lasted in their embrace.

It took a few seconds for Ash to break away first, a series of small breaths escaping him as he tried to stable himself. "It was not my intention to take advantage of the situation." He said swiftly glancing down at his still clothed chest, which was now moist where they had pressed together and the water from Nao's chest had seeped into the fabric of his vest. He was torn between fixing himself and the wrinkles that started to form and allowing himself to succumb to the moment entirely. Nao, however, had made that choice for him as Ash felt shaky hands touch his chest. He was slowly undoing the buttons of Ash’s vest, diligent in his own work.

“There is nothing to take advantage of, Ash-san. I wanted to her about her--I want to know about your family, I want to know who you are.” Nao told him quietly and Ash was still in his spot, both their eyes glued to Nao’s fingers as he worked. “She’s still alive, you know. Sometimes it’s okay to remember back then, to think about it. But in a good way--sometimes you should, or else no one will remember them. If I died, I would want you to remember me. I would want you to think of me, but only fondly. Like you do of her. I see it, in your eyes.” Nao looked briefly up to him and a smile spread across his face.

Nao slipped the vest off of Ash’s shoulders, carefully folding it before he moved to set it on the ground. He then set work to the buttons of his white dress shirt next. “I don’t have kids of my own, not yet. I’d like to one day, I think. When I’m ready to be a family man--but I have a little brother. He sounds a lot like your Lynnie--he was a happy baby, I remember when we were younger and he pretend to be me because I was older, I was his hero.” Nao carefully pulled the shirt off of Ash, untucking it from his waist before Nao took the effort to fold the shirt too. “You are still her hero, Ash--she still pretends, even if she’s gone from here. I wish I could have met her though, I would have loved to play with her.” He said truthfully, a soft laugh escaping Nao. Though, in truth, his small laugh still held its naturally goofy nature.

He then reached down and took Ash’s hand, the one that still held the wet cloth. “Please.” He urged the man softly and a moment later, Nao had taken away the cloth from his palm. He moved around Ash and bent to the bowl, soaking the fabric in the water before he wrung it out and stood back up. He started first with Ash’s back, just as Ash had done to him, and drew the cloth across his skin. His was darker than Nao’s, by a fair amount, and Nao found himself smitten with the color and texture as he took care in washing Ash’s skin too. He could feel that Ash had gone rigid in his spot, but it was certainly an accomplishment that the man didn’t stop him. That he trusted Nao enough to allow him to do what he was doing. There was noting more sacred to Ash than his body, the cleanliness of it, and he was allow that responsibility to lie in Nao’s hands--it was truly a definitive moment.

They had shared each other mentally, but nothing could match that moment where they were starting to share each other physically too.

“You helped me, Ash--you helped me with so much. And I want to help you in return.” He told him softly as he finished his back. Nao slid his hands around Ash’s torso, the cloth trailing across Ash’s skin as he did so, and he settled them against Ash’s narrow stomach. “Please let me.” Nao begged him softly as he leaned forward and kissed Ash’s back before hugging him from behind, his cheek pressed affectionately against Ash’s skin. Ash had sucked in a sharp breath and it was clear, by his silence, that he was stuck in his affection right then. But the moment of silence that crossed over them was enough to calm Ash’s emotional well. It took all of his power to let Nao have that control he was asking for, to give himself up even as minimal as it might seem to others. To Ash, it was an entirely new level just to let Nao touch his bare chest like he was, let alone wash him or show much of any affection.

“Okay.” Ash said quietly and Nao smiled at the words. He hesitated a moment before extracting his arms from Ash’s torso. Nao went to work on his arms too, using the cloth along the length of his skin. He smoothed out the hairs on Ash’s arms that stood up on end. Nao stole guilty, fleeting glances towards Ash as he worked again. He moved with the same gentleness as Ash had and he stopped when he too stood before the man, Ash’s chest next on Nao’s list. But he didn’t move to rewet the cloth; Nao, instead, reached out and ran his finger tips down the length of Ash’s abdomen as he stepped closer to him. “Stop me if you’re not comfortable.” Nao told him with a small, shaky voice.

Ash licked his lips and nodded his head a moment later. “Go ahead.” He responded. It was all the encouragement Nao needed as he stood slightly on his tip toes. He captured Ash’s lips again, warmly as his fingers trailed down to the waist band of Ash’s pants. He would let Ash clean the rest of his own body only after he had the chance to do so first.
