(no subject)
My whole family (except my mum) has been fighting pretty much since this afternoon, it's been really awful, but I'm not here to talk about that. I need something to cheer me up so I'm going to do a rec-post of some of my favourite music videos, because videos are my passion and there are some really fantastic ones out there. :) And I get to re-watch all my favourites while typing out this post, so yay to that!
So, I'm just going to go through some of my favourite vidders and pick out my favourite videos of theirs.
Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking and Open Your Eyes by snarkyways - (SV/SPN) These two videos are actually unrelated but since they're both crossovers I figured I'd post them together. Honestly, I'd recommend anything by snarkyways because all of her work is absolutely fantastic and something I aspire to. SPN-crossovers of any type are really hard, because their colouring is so unlike any other show, but she pulls it off flawlessly. And she's great at having an easily followable storyline with her videos. I also recommend Falling Inside The Black (Peter, Niki and Claire from Heroes) and Brighter Than Sunshine (Jim/Pam from The Office), but all of her videos are absolutely gorgeous.
Jekyll and Hyde by kitxkatz - (Niki/Jessica from Heroes) I find it can be a little hard to find really good Heroes videos, but this? Is absolutely fantastic. The song is just perfect for Niki/Jessica and her editing and technique is to die for. She's made one other Heroes video which I should also rec, Sleepwalking which is a brilliant Peter video. And she's made alot of other brilliant videos in fandoms such as Supernatural and Buffy/Angel. I definitely highly recommend her channel.
It's Not Over by Jolie009 - (Brathan from OTH) This is easily one of the best Brooke/Nathan videos I've ever seen. The song might be a little cliched, but I can't really talk cos I've used it twice myself. :p Her timing and editing is perfect and I could honestly believe this ship were canon if I didn't know any better. I also have to rec her Dean/Brooke/Jo video Over You, which is the video that made me subscribe to her channel in the first place.
Running Up That Hill by starryeyesxxbitten - (Brooke/Nathan/Lucas/Peyton from OTH) I've been following starryeyesxxbitten since her very first account (without the bitten, hee). Now this is a girl that knows how to bring the UC and the AU to the party! Running Up That Hill is probably my favourite video of her's because she took such a completely insane plotline and made it so real, and being someone who loves vidding AU-plotlines, I really admire that. I also have to rec Post Blue (Jack/Claire from Lost), Rescue Me (Brooke/Lucas/Nathan from OTH), Empty Apartment (Liz/Angel from Roswell and Angel respectively) and Somewhere Out There (Angel/Cordy from Angel).
One Thing by thesweetestlove - (Mac/Veronica from Veronica Mars) This is absolutely brilliantly manipulated. It's really believable, and you can really see Veronica struggling with her feelings for Mac. Her timing makes me want to weep because I want timing-skillz like her, LOL. I'd definitely also have to rec Everything (another Mac/Veronica) and Don't Break My Heart Slow (Brooke/Lucas, OTH).
Kill by Floruu - (Peter/Claire from Heroes) So I'm not a Paire shipper whatsoever, but this video is too fantastic not to rec. Not only is this girl one of the nicest people I've come across on YouTube, but she's got so much talent that she makes me want to ship the couples in her videos even if I don't like them. For instance, I don't like Leyton (or as I call them, Pucas) but All The Same makes me drool with vidder-envy. Although thankfully, she has balanced out making that pairing by making a fantastic Seth/Summer video Things I'll Never Say which makes me want to get a job so I can actually buy The OC on DVD, LMAO.
Tonight, And The Rest Of My Life by elviriel - (Peter/Chloe/Nathan from Heroes/Smallville) This video doesn't actually have a name so I just used the song's name. elviriel makes utterly fantastic Peter/Chloe videos, but when I saw she had a P/C/N video, I jumped for joy! I have to admit, I wanted to make a Peter/Chloe video (life is beautiful) when I put the Milo/Allison connection together through Opposite Sex, but it was elviriel who inspired me to actually do so. I also really recommend her Peter/Chloe/Lex video, it's fantastic as well.
This Is Why I Rock by Bingboom28 - (Chris Kellar from OTH) LOL, everytime I watch this video I just wanna jump up and down. Chris will always be one of my favourite characters on OTH, I don't care if everyone thinks he's an ass or not. In my eyes, he was just bluntly awesome. :p This video seriously seems to have gotten every awesome Chris-moment from the show. It just hits my Chris-bone, heee. I also recommend Echo (Jake/Peyton from OTH) and Runaway Love (Peyton, Brooke, Rachel from OTH). The latter in particular always makes me cry. :(
Chemicals React by cutesunshine - (Brooke/Veronica from OTH and VMars) This is a really sweet video with some very nicely manipulated scenes. It's got a bit of a storyline to it, but one that's very easy to follow. I also have to rec Cry Me A River (Brooke/Nathan from OTH) and her entire Guiding Light series which I thought was really neat.
Possession by PurebloodProductions - (Snape/Hermione from Harry Potter) This video hands down made me fall in love with this ship. It's so utterly gorgeous!! The colouring makes my eyes glaze over with lust and her edits are brilliantly done. And I just love, love this verison of this song. All of her videos are to die for, but I also really recommend Somewhere (Hermione/Tom Riddle), Going Under (Hermione/Snape/Ron) and Bittersweet (Hermione/Ron).
Fingers by vidderella - (Harry/Ron from Harry Potter) So I'll admit, this video makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. What can I say, the entire concept is just utterly amusing. And I've always been a closeted Harry/Ron shipper, so the fact that it's that ship makes me even happier. This is another vidder that I'd recommend absolutely anything of, but I guess in particular I also love Memories (Hermione/Jack, Harry Potter/Pirate of the Carribean) and her Grey's Anatomy verison of My Best Friend's Wedding with George/Izzie/Callie/Alex. The fact that Alex is playing George from MBFW makes me giggle too. I am so immature. :p
Okay, so I've been at this for over an hour and a half now so I shall leave you there for now. I hope you guys watch some of these videos and enjoy them as much as I did. I'm still behind on my flisting because I have been super-busy, but I promise to catch up this week (and I mean it this time). I hope you're all doing well. :)
