Here Finally Wesley came in with me from the roof, the words before we'd fled the rain still ringing in my ears.
"Thank you for coming back Lilah. I can't promise you...anything."
Since when had I ever asked him for more than he could offer? I'd known the score, even back then. No promises. Hell, we'd even made a bet over who'd be the first to call our 'thing' a relationship. And now, it wasn't much different. I had no hold over him, and vice versa. It still annoyed me though that Eve'd had that signed dollar bill. How had she got it from Wesley?
I lead the way down the corridor and finally selected the first room that looked decent.
"I'll have someone bring us some new clothes and a shaving kit for the morning. Did you want to eat anything?" I asked as I moved into the room and started removing my sodden clothing. There was a radiator by the window that would help dry out our things if we wanted. I'd realised that I was suddenly famished. I suppose that being asleep for a year was long enough to develop the munchies.
"Who's going to have the first shower? If the water runs out I'll get cranky." I teased as I undressed.
